All performed highly, were great to work with, accommodating, knowledgeable, and made the projects easy. Sales was upfront, transparent, patient, and honest. Project managers were responsive, gave the bad news fast if there was any, and worked with us to get the job done to our satisfaction. The craftsman working for Craftsman Choice are all true craftsmen; and I do not use that term lightly. They have been there, done that, and that experience shown through thoroughly in each job performed. There will always be issues, but how Craftsman Choice chooses to deal with the issues makes them stand out. I have referred them to many coworkers and friends and have had no regrets in making a recommendation. I am not an employee; I do not own stock in Craftsman Choice, but the reason I write this is when someone performs poorly, I speak up. And, when someone does a good job, I like to make it known. - Capital Siding Windows & RoofingWhen we got hit with the hail storm last summer on the east side of St Paul, we received damage to our roof, gutters, etc. The insurance company sent an adjuster that approved about 25 percent of the damage. Add to this most roofing companies were very busy and weren’t really interested in a small roof like ours. We contacted Capitol Siding and Windows and they were instrumental in us getting what we should have received in the first place. They came out and inspected everything, took a lot of pictures and helped us contact the insurance company to meet an adjuster and straighten out our claim. The claim was fully approved, and our new roof looks great! Capitol Siding and Windows is a local family owned business that still puts customer’s needs first, and I highly recommend them for any exterior work on your house. I promise you will not be let down

The roof looks great, the roofing crew did a pretty good job cleaning up after themselves and Clay did a completely separate clean-up using a rilling magnet to “find” many of the roofing nails still in the lawn (we have to kids and a dog that are always in the yard, so this was VERY appreciated).

"The guys started on the day we had planned a couple months earlier, arrived punctually each day, and were done in 3 and a half days. They installed a new shower and painted in my master bath, and they installed new flooring, baseboards, and faucets in both my master bath and a second bathroom. I was pleased with the results. It was easy to work with Val to get everything set up, and he even convinced me that some further upgrades (new countertop) would not be a good choice for my project. The total price was $9400, which included everything except the cost of the paint and faucets.

"We had them install two FiberTec patio doors. We found the installer to be unprofessional and his workmanship shoddy. The interior trim work was bad and the exterior installation was poor as well. It seemed they took shortcuts to make it work rather than doing it correctly. It took three returns to our home for them to get it right. When we complained of the poor workmanship, we were told to contact the installer directly rather than him taking care of it. We did not experience good customer service and the communication was poor. Doors were good quality but a little heavy. I would not recommend this company for installation.

"At first I thought it was okay. We had the work done in the fall. The next spring we had a really bad rain storm and it started "raining" through our light fixture in the dining room. When we called someone did come out, did what he said was a "band aid fix" and they would be back. They never came back. A few days ago we had another bad rain storm and the dining room fixture started "raining" again. We also saw the following spring what they did with the roof on our three-season porch. "I had our chimney cleaned in early summer as House was smelly. They used cameras and said we had a chimney fire. The fireplace was unusable. They gave an immediate estimate of $7800 and information on contacting our insurance company. I was VERY skeptical but had a second opinion and talked to my insurance company. After checking with other companies, this one had the best rating so we used them. They required 1/3 down ($2300) and didn’t schedule the work for several months. I had to call to remind them. The workers themselves were great.2 day job. Very professional. However within an hour I had a phone call and several emails to get the remaining $5500. They came to the door the next day at 8:00am to get the check. They cashed it immediately even though it has not been 72 hours and I can’t check if the fireplace is fixed. I am not sure this was a scam but cit left me with a negative impression. The very agressive tactics should give anyone pause to use this company.
