They went above and beyond inspecting my new home. The roofing company didnt pull a permit for my new roof. They informed the co. That to save me money on insurance premium they absolutely needed a permit. This forced the roofing co. To get this permit which saved me hundred a year. These are the best people to work with, they know their stuff well and look out for their customers! Cant thank you enough!!!!

I was not at the inspection appointment and trusted the report provided me. On day 1 of moving in from out-of-state, I noticed termite droppings on the kitchen countertop that I cleaned up only to find more the next day and the next and so on (not reported). I asked Orkin how long they thought the termite problem existed and they estimated about 5 years. Orkin also made me aware of a gap in an attic vent where rats were entering the attic. The response from Young Home Inspections - there was no evidence of termites (or rats) and that they were not a WDO company (website states they are) and could only judge a situation by what is visible at the time of the inspection. On day 1, I noticed shower drips when running sink (not reported). At the first rainfall I noticed badly clogged gutters (not reported). I've been in the home for 6 months now and have little confidence in the home inspection report provided and just waiting to find more issues not evident as of yet to me. The inspection was just another expense added to the other expenses on issues not reported that might have been negotiable at time of buying the house but not available to me at that time. Updated 6/23/22 For the record, I moved into the house on 1/24/2022. I used all my vacation time traveling from CA to FL and I work many hours at a full time position which didn't leave me a much time to deal with the issues I was observing right away. So firstly, I've only been here 5 months, not 7 as you want to use to make your points sound more valid. I had Orkin come out to inspect in May and they stated that their report "is based on visible evidence of readily accessible areas and does not make any attempt to reveal damage which may be present. No attempt to remove insulation, carpeting, paneling, etc. to search for hidden damage was made." And they provided me 24 attic pictures of rat and termite droppings. I only see 4 that you provided to me. And remember, they also estimated the problem existed for 5 years. And regardless of all that, you failed to comment on the attic vent gap. Showing me a running shower does not validate the shower drips when I turn the sink faucet on. I just had someone come out today to inspect the gutter in the back and here are some of their comments: the downspouts are not installed properly and the gutter is clogged. On a related note, the drains are clogged as well (need landscaper for that). So in the meantime, water is eroding the ground near the foundation where a snake has made it's home. This report was useless and there seems to be way too many clauses that protect you from ever being responsible for any neglect or wrong-doing. I didn't see anything!!

"I am sorry for these things coming to light 7 months after we conducted our inspection. I am curious why you waited 7 months to have your realtor call if you noticed things on day one? I sent your realtor over 100 pictures yesterday, willing to be as transparent as possible in our inspection of your home. You had to move into the home and live there for 7 months before any evidence presented itself. We are only there for a couple of hours and the evidence either presents itself at that time or it does not, we can only report on what we see and test while we are there. Also it does not state we do termite inspections on my website, only that we offer them if one is ordered! I coordinate that with an actual termite company I do this several times a day for clients everyday. It says in my notes that you turned down that additional inspection even though the home is wood framed. Also the home was immaculate at time of inspection, it had been newly remodeled, painted, and cleaned for showing. If someone while preparing the house for showing cleaned up any and all evidence like frass, wings, droppings then we are not going to see it. I sent you pictures of your plumbing running in the shower, the inspector obviously inspected it. Where you say the termites were found around your windows (per your realtor) I have pictures showing nothing there. A home inspection is only good for that snap shot in time we are there, Are things functioning at time of inspection? Are there any leaks now? Are there signs of termites now? Not 7 months later. A home inspection is not a home warranty. In closing I just want to say timing is everything and I am again sorry these things did not present themselves at time of inspection we would have gladly shared the information with you if it had. We are there to help, not hurt our clients. We try and do the best we can always and I have some of the best inspectors in the business. That is why we have been in business for 33 years."

You are only mad because we were hired by the potential buyer of your home that backed out of the sale based on our home inspection report. You call it wordy it was enough information that our client ran from the purchase of your home which was in terrible shape! Your home was riddled with termites. You did nothing to treat the home just let them eat away until the home needed major wood replacement, not to mention a tenting! It has been two years now. Have you bothered fixing your home? Have you had it treated for termites?? You could have sold your home 2 years ago if you had bothered taking care of the obvious. You are masquerading as someone that hired us and you did not. You paid us nothing, we did not work for you. This is an illegal post and I will let Angie's List know about it! You are a very vengeful person that learned nothing from your experience. Other than slandering someone's company that did a job for someone else and you are still bitter. FIX your home and quit wasting your time here. I do NOT recommend Young Home Inspections since they missed several significant problems with the house I purchased. 1) They completely missed two thermopane windows which had failed seals 2) I had an electrician in who said that the house should NEVER have passed the 4 Point Insurance Inspection since there were obvious open electrical connections in the attic which were a fire hazard and several electrical outlets in the house and garage which were a shock hazard!

We needed to hire a second home inspection company as the first we hired, Anchor Home Inspections, made an error in the report and refused to correct their mistake. I put an inquiry into Angi for a new company and Christine from Young Home Inspections called me within minutes of the request. I explained the situation to her and she was able to find the information in county records that Anchor Home Inspections could not find or did not ever look for as we spoke on the phone. It was late Thursday afternoon when we spoke and they were already booked for Friday, but we made an appointment for Saturday morning. Christine was very helpful and a pleasure to speak with. Saturday morning Jeff arrived on time and was polite, pleasant, and thorough and he let us know about a couple of minor findings and what they were. The inspection report was received within hours of the inspection having been completed and was thorough and professional. I would definitely hire them again and will recommend them to friends. Edit: Great, I just want clarify my previous review regarding Anchor Home Inspections as I see there is another local company with a nearly identical name. The company we had the issue with is named Anchor Home Inspections under the corporate name of Anchor Home Investments out of St. Petersburg and is owned by Stephen Smarowsky who is very unprofessional and unethical. I just would not want anyone to mistakenly think it was any other company.

"Hi Mr [Member Name Removed], Home inspections are non-invasive by nature, so that means we do not dismantle anything. That is something NO home inspection company does and is in compliance with the Standards of Practice for home inspections in the State of Florida it is all we are allowed to do. So to fault us for not being able to conduct a more thorough inspection is in no way a reflection of the fact we do all we can do by law and the rules all home inspection companies have to follow. What we can and do check is the thermostat, temperature differential of cooling and test if the heat is working, we tell you what type of heat you have heat strips or pump, and do a visual inspection of condensing unit and air handler, we check drip pan installation and for correct tilt and float switches and ductwork to make sure no damage is present and that all installation is correct and compressor is attached to slab per code and also the sub panels for units are working correctly etc. We do a lot but basic, if you wanted more you should have called an HVAC contractor for a more invasive inspection. We are there to look at so much more than just the HVAC and have to cover all components of the home in a relatively short time frame. We follow protocols for this. This is the first step you take to make sure that nothing is screaming out for attention, if the home is in disrepair, which components might need immediate repair or replacement, any immediate hazards existing at the time of inspection and also what you will have to budget for in the future because you will know the age of all components. But we are not there to service all components, With an HVAC system, when we leave you will know the age and if the system is performing at an acceptable level, installed correctly has a functioning and safe sub-panel and ductwork is good, and if there is anything else visual we can see in need of repair or replacement. I am not sure what else you were looking for? But glad you were satisfied with the rest of the inspection."

When I tell you these were the heroes that came in better than I could've asked for. I feel as though I was handled with white gloves and dealing with people, as professional as they were, I felt like I was dealing with people that cared. My wife and I are purchasing a home for renovation and needed a thorough report to identify the areas that need extra love & attention. Chrissy (if I remember correctly) was an angel, she set up the appointment for 2 days out, extremely personable and a pleasure to work with. Dan got there early and had already inspected the roof once I arrived. Ira felt like a familiar face with his expertise there, providing education, with a laugh and guidance on ways to proceed with new information. When I tell you I'm so glad to have had this experience, I was so worried about picking the right inspectors because I had heard horror stories from the architect, the realtor, and the general contractor about improper inspections. It went great. Everyone is very friendly and professional. And Dan the inspector is excellent. He answers any questions that you may have, and he's very professional, thorough, as well as punctual. He even swept up the little dust that came out of the attic. I told him that he didn't have too, but he insisted, and his response was that he always clean after himself and it was proven. It went great! Dan was extremely thorough, and explained everything he found. He made sure to check the crawl space, attic, workshop/shed out back, separate storage unit, all the plumbing and electrical, roof, etc. He was very honest about what should and shouldn't be necessary to fix, on time to the appointment (actually beat me there!), and very respectful of the home. Christine contacted me almost immediately when I put in for quote, and was also a pleasure to work with over the phone. I would definitely recommend this company to any First Time Homebuyers (or not first-time!) and Realtors in the area that are looking for a good home inspection company!
