"Travis and his partner are amazing! Our driveway went from the street in front, along the house, to the back fence. Part of it was asphalt, and part of it the concrete from an old garage that was removed long before I moved in. While we tried ourselves to remove it all, eventually we called Trinity, and a few other companies. Not only did Trinity give us the best estimate, all communication with them was prompt and professional. When they arrived, they were great guys who did a beautiful job. Next year we're probably going to be repaving what's left of the driveway, and we'll call them immediately."

"Al helped plan a landscaping project involving flattening a hill along one side of our driveway. He suggested a couple of solutions considering the entire cost of the project, not just his portion (for example including the cost of hauling soil vs. regrading vs. repair work to a sprinkler system). We also worked out a plan where we could relocate some of our natural stone wall.
He told us he had a month's work ahead of ours, which was a bit of a bummer since we would have preferred the work to start sooner, but the work started on schedule. The work was completed quickly and was exactly what we wanted and agreed to.
They solved our driveway problem!

"The grading near a basement window got messed up when the extension piece of our gutter was accidentally knocked off by playing children. Water flowed the wrong way, a sinkhole developed, and instead of water being directed away from the house, water was pushed up against the window frame and held there. The estimator came out and saw immediately what needed to be done. He remarked that he was going to include the area where the gutter was because, given the circumstances, it was likely that the extension piece could and would be knocked off again. He explained in detail what they would do. I also had him look at another area that was not causing a problem yet, but might in the future. He broke the estimate down into two parts, the part that had to be done and the part that could wait. The estimate was fine, we decided to have both areas corrected, and the company scheduled the work around my schedule (we had some travel plans). The guys who did the work were prompt, hard working and courteous. The project took 2-3 days. A supervisor turned up at the end of each day to take a look at the work and give further instructions to the guys doing the labor. At the end of the project, a supervisor came out to inspect the project, walk through it with me and answer my questions. I have a project in mind for next year involving landscaping and my driveway, and this is the first company I will call."

"They came out to review what we had talked about.    They had solutions to our problems with our steps, walkway and general landscape areas in front and back of the house.

We like the ideas, but some parts were a bit more them we could afford at this time.  The estimate included a paver sidewalk instead of cement.  They presented an $11,900 plan for new steps, new walkway, removal and replacement of scrubs in  front and in back of the house.  Also included was a 20x20 foot cement replacement of part of the driveway.   About $1500 of this was for future work in the back of the house.   The owner provided a printed layout plan of his ideas.

The company does a lot of work with paver walkways and we were looking more for a combination of cement with paver trim.  Cement work is done by a sub-contractor.

The company was good in following up on us with out making us feel pressured. After 2 months, we decided to scale down our needs and look for ways to do the project in small pieces over the next two years.  We have done nothing since.

If a paver look is what a person wants, this is a company to be considered.   They knew the product and had the experience."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, recycled asphalt driveway costs can be substantially lower than new asphalt. With new asphalt costing between $90 and $190 per ton, this option can cost as much as 10 times more than laying down asphalt millings.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.

In the United States, roads are usually categorized as one of three types: public roads, other drivable roads, and non-drivable roads. These categories dictate how a road can be used; a non-drivable road might be classified that way because it is heavily damaged and unsafe for cars.
