"Everything went well. It took the fellows a little over a half an hour to remove the items from all over the house. They were supposed to come on Aug. 7, but had an issue with a truck. They called to let me know, and we rescheduled for Aug. 8. They arrived right on time."

"Estimate was free and went well. I would have considered this to be a small job. The estimate was very detailed and done in a timely manner. I did find a square footage error in the first estimate which was corrected. They added an additional cost in the adjusted estimate which was quite annoying and had it been greater than it was, I would have turned them down just for that. The estimator was pleasant and seemed well informed on the matter of mold remediation. I had multiple questions for the estimator after his visit and he was always quick to respond. I did ask for a copy of their insurance which I did not get, fortunately there were no issues, but because of the length of time they'd been in business and all the research I'd done, I wasn't too concerned.
The team came on time within a few days of me getting the paperwork to them. I was impressed with the care the team took while in my home and the team leader's knowledge of the work needing to be done. A side note - I am extremely picky and generally go into hiring a contractor well researched in all the aspects of the job. The work was performed quickly and they cleaned up as to what I would expect. They had taken pictures of the process as the room was sealed off and I was unable to view the process myself.

"We used Angie’s List’s bidding tool for the first time, and requested bids from five companies. Andrew Costigan from A1 Radon got back to us first - immediately with an email bid. Given all of A1’s positive reviews, we felt comfortable with A1 doing the work even though we hadn’t met them yet and they hadn’t come onsite to check things out before bidding. The day of the work, Andrew and another fellow showed up exactly on time to do the work just as they emailed that they would. We have a finished basement and had been worried that they’d have to run the tubing in our family room, but Andrew said they could do the work pretty much anywhere given the footprint of our house. I pointed out a small spot under and behind the stairs where the wall went up with some other mechanicals inside. Andrew looked and said that worked and immediately got down to work in the small space. They were done within two hours, were responsive to my questions, made no mess at all, and put in a the system that looks pretty good to us. They seemed like friendly, good, experienced, trustworthy professionals. Since there had been a snow storm the night before, the electrician they contract with needed to reschedule to two days later (instead of coming on the same day), since the electrician had been plowing all night the night before. Andrew seemed very worried / apologetic about this when he told me, but it was not a big deal for us. Andrew handled all of the rescheduling, and the electrician seemed great and even did some additional impromptu work of putting in a new outlet that we asked him about on the off-chance he had the time or interest, and he charged us a fair price for that additional work. Again, professional and focused on doing good work. No mess. Overall, it was a great experience. And a great relief to have finally put in a radon mitigation system that we’d been considering for a while. We have not used the follow-up test that Andrew gave us yet, since we are supposed to let the system run a week first, but we’re hoping / assuming we will get below the 3.7 pci score we had on the multi-month test results we received back immediately before purchasing this system."
