"Todd and his crew did an excellent job. Our interior had not been repainted in over 20 years, so there was a great deal of patching and prep needed. We couldn't be happier- they were meticulous, and the house looks new again. We will be using Shelton Painting again in the spring for kitchen cabinet refinishing."

"Eclipse painting were absolutely fantastic! They painted my house in a timely manner, the workers were incredibly polite and knew exactly what they were doing and the owner was very professional. My house was looking rather rough around the edges with a lot of damage to the previous paint job, but Eclipse gave me results I have wanted for years. They were very kind and very easy to work with. I highly recommend their services and would most definitely ask them to work on my house again."

"This is the third time we have hired Jamie for our painting projects and we would definitely hire him again for future painting needs. He is easy to work with and communicates well about the project. He does a meticulous job at a reasonable price."

"We had Leo and his crew repair and stain our deck a few years ago, and had them back to paint our main level - bedrooms, bathroom, living room, family room, kitchen, and laundry. They also removed and refinished popcorn ceilings. Besides doing a great job. The guys from High Rollers are just fun to have around the house."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.

Pressure-treated wood lasts at least 10 years, but with the right care and treatment, it can last as long as 40 years. Painting the boards is one way to increase the lifespan of pressure-treated wood. The layer of paint provides extra protection for the wood against the exterior elements and insects.

Both a roller and a brush are effective methods for painting a chain link fence. A roller will make the job easier by ensuring symmetrical strokes and reaching the backside of the fence as well, which cuts down on paint time. However, a brush is often necessary for painting the base of the fence and near the posts due to its ease of reaching smaller spaces.

For the best results, you should apply two coats of paint to your wrought iron fence. Let your first coat dry for about an hour then promptly apply your second coat.

On most untreated wood fences, there is no need to sand before treating. You typically only need to sand if there’s an old coat of paint or stain on your fence. If you do need to sand off a previous paint or protective coating (like an old stain or sealant), use medium-grit sandpaper.
