Scott seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with, so we hired them. Our old house was leaky, so the sandblasting created lots of dust inside the house despite their best efforts to seal it. The only other hang up was the discovery of rotten studs underneath the old stucco. Scott connected us with carpenters who were able to expedite the repair, and we're happy with the finished exterior."

The real nice touch was that he matched the stucco color to the color of the painted stucco on the rest of the house. "In spring of 2017 (May) I hired Flanagan Painting to paint my stucco house. I had initially wanted only my trim painted as paint was peeling badly. He explained to me that he noticed cracks in my stucco in both house & garage & he could patch those up & if I would have the whole house painted, he could use a special paint to also help seal the cracks in the stucco. Since I didn’t know the last time the house was painted (I’ve owned for only 7 years) & because I thought a full paint job would help seal out pests of all kinds, I decided to go with his suggestion of full house & garage painting. (I didn’t feel pressured by him at all to do full paint job.) So glad I did! Joe Flanagan & his assistant, Jonathon, did a great job on my house & garage! And at a reasonable price! And with a 5% Angie’s List member discount. He also suggested power washing my wooden fence, which was unpainted & unstained & had turned an ugly gray. He said if I did this, it would look almost new again, with a tinge of the original orange color. He was right! The fence looks so much better. And he gave me suggestions on staining it to maintain it. He also was careful of my perennial plants that were coming up around the house, which I appreciated – I did mark them to help him avoid. They were detail oriented & careful in their painting. He also noticed & pointed out a hole in my eaves which he chased a squirrel out of & plugged up w/ rocks as a temporary barrier. And he & his assistant were both so congenial, friendly & easy to work with! And answered all my questions! I will definitely hire again for any painting work!"

"The project could not have gone more smoothly.  Even when we were requesting an estimate, Brennan was careful to walk us through each step in the planned painting process and worked with us in selecting a color combination that would work and stand up.  Despite a busy schedule (due to the prolonged wet and cold spring), Brennan's crew showed up when promised.  After power washing the entire exterior and allowing it to dry thoroughly, the crew worked in sequenced shifts.  A lead team scraped down and filled the wood trim, the next team primed our well-preserved but old chalky stucco with a special primer to clean and improve adhesion of the surface, then Brennan sprayed a special Sherwin Williams formula for stucco using a power sprayer.  They finished by priming and putting two coats on the trim.  The work was very carefully done with attention to detail.  Even though we were switching some surfaces from a dark brown to a light cream paint, the paint was evenly applied and shows no signs of the old paint.  There was no overspraying, and the trim pieces were painted cleanly and evenly.  The crew cleaned up after themselves every day.  Finally, after we had old storm windows replaced this year, they came back and completely repainted the exposed trim (not just the bare spots) for a very reasonable amount.
Our project has received rave reviews from all our neighbors (and several passers-by) and left us with the feeling that we have made the house "ours."  I would definitely recommend them (and in fact have done so)."

"They had a total of four employees come out and it took a couple of weeks to complete due to the drying of the stucco. You will get good workers. They didn't give a good heads up when showing up but it didn't cause any problems. This is a relevant problem with any construction company though."

"Joe and the team were fantastic. The chimney on our original 1928 South Minneapolis house has seen better days. It was cracked all the way to the ground and leaking. We did not want to do a stucco chimney again due to cost. Joe and team built a brick chimney that perfectly matched the character of the house and frankly looked a lot better than the original ever did. It is gorgeous!
