The team at United Wall has done another great job for us. This job was even more complicated than our last one because it was for our entire staircase wall, which is both high, curved near the top, and also on stairs. Also, this was probably 15-20 ft long of cracked wall and 7 ft high of cracks. This is excluding the big crack on the other side of the stairs that was also in this project. Same with part of our ceiling. They showed up exactly on time, completed the job on time, and did an incredible job protecting our stairs, preventing dust to other areas, and then cleaning up. They also did a great job protecting the entrance cabinets, walls, and windows. We used them about a year ago and were excited to hire them again for this project. The quality of that work has held up under tremendous load that we’ve put on some of those areas from another construction project that requires bracing that area of the house inside and out. Call them and feel free to call elsewhere, but hire this team if you want quality work done right. I am cross-posting this on the BBB and Google Reviews too.

I hired United Wall Systems to repair plaster in 6 room of my 1938 home. There were cracks in the ceiling and walls. Some were fairly significant, and one was more like a fissure, probably approaching an inch wide. John and his crew did an amazing job. It took them 3 days, working from about 8:00 until 1:00, putting on two coats of plaster over mesh (when appropriate), and sanding on the last day. When we did our walk through for a final inspection and approval, I had to ask John to remind me of where they had made their repairs. That is how well the repair blended into the original plaster. John’s prices were fair, he was always on time, and I was totally impressed with how little plaster dust was left when they were done. I was dreading having these repairs made because I did not want to deal with plaster dust drifting through my house, but they did an extraordinary job of containing it. If I need plaster work done in the future, I won’t even bother to get an estimate elsewhere.

I would highly recommend the United Wall plaster team for several reasons beyond the fact that they did a great job with the walls and popcorn ceiling at a perfectly fair value. 1) our home was built in 1914 and has large and small plaster problems everywhere and they worked with us to make this project doable for us and them 2) for some reason there were 2 layers of popcorns ceiling, both of which were painted making them harder to remove. They were able to and then the applied their artistic touch afterwards to make the ceiling look awesome (see pictures) 3) they were able to give a great electrician recommendation to come install lights in the ceiling before their work started so they could patch the holes after as if the holes were never there 4) John was on time for every appointment, returned every call and email, and made sure to text the job status at the end of every work day 5) their prep to make sure the rest of the house was clean was truly excellent and thorough 6) they even had a towel over the plastic for the floor given that it’s winter 7) the crew was on time every morning 8) the post-job cleanup was excellent 9) they were very nice and easy to work with 10) John has been doing this for several decades and has a few additional tradecraft skills that you only get and can validate because of being in the game for several decades They were a recommendation to us and we’ll only recommend and use them for plaster work in the future. I’m crossposting this to every site that they are on.

John and his team did an amazing job repairing cracked and bulging plaster in the back stairway of my 1921 duplex. This entailed repairing cracking and bulging plaster in multiple spots from the basement up to the second floor--some of which were very high up. They also repaired cracked plaster in two bedrooms in the first floor unit. They completed the work in 3 days, which was amazing. It looks great, and they were so great to work with from start to finish! I would highly recommend them for quality work at a fair price.

I had some holes in my basement walls and ceiling after some repairs from a water pipe leak. John responded quickly to my request for a quote and came out the next day. He was very professional and talked me through what would need to be done. It was a small area but tricky, as it was a tray ceiling with knockdown texture. John did an excellent job communicating with me before and during the project. I always knew when he'd be on site and I appreciated that. Also, the project turned out flawless! I would never be able to tell that there were ever holes there. The knockdown match looks excellent too. He accomplished exactly what I was hoping for. It was a great experience from start to finish.

We hired United Wall to repair the stucco on our house as it was starting to crack and in a couple spots pieces had fallen away. In addition to the repair work we had the stucco painted. When in the process of gathering estimates John arrived are our home looked at the areas of concern and did a general assessment of the over all stucco condition. I appreciated this when other companies were wanting to generate an estimate from photos of our house. John also showed some before and after photos of their completed work and explained the process and the type of paint used on stucco. I felt John was very honest with his assessment and the estimate of the work was within range of what I expected. The quality of work completed was top notch.

The team was very professional and careful in ensuring everything was covered before beginning the job. They did a very nice job in patching and in making sure the patching used was of top quality to avoid any further disruption in ceiling maintenance. They also came back to go over the ceiling again as some of the patched areas did not lighten up entirely. The ceiling looks great. You can tell that John has been in business for a long time and knows what to do! His crew were very professional and considerate. Thanks!

We had significant wall damage that needed repair throughout our home. I had attempted to repair myself, but the job was too large for one person to do. I hired United Wall Systems to do the work. They seemed to be very detail oriented and perfectionists, which is what I needed. They spent 5 days in my home doing these repairs. They had lights to help them in making sure the walls were sanded flush. After the first day or two we found that some areas were being missed, which were quickly addressed. Upon the final inspection, in regular afternoon daylight, there were some small imperfections, but they were very minor. As we went to paint, we noticed that there were more than a few imperfections. My wife and I had to take the next week to fix them to our satisfaction before finally painting the entire house. We wished we had kept our $5500 and just spent the two weeks doing it ourselves. I had hoped that John was more active in the project. I also want to mention that this was in the very beginning of the MN shelter in place order. John kept telling us that he couldn't work due to the order which delayed this project about 3 weeks. The construction trades were considered essential, but John kept telling me they weren't. I had other contractors in the house (which was unoccupied) who said the order allowed them to work. While I don't want anyone sick, I feel like he might have been purposely delaying my project for other reasons. Keep in mind the home was empty at the time and he said he was contacting the state for a determination on whether he could work or not. It was odd to me. The grade given is about quality of work rather than the delay of the project

We thoroughly enjoyed working with John. He was punctual, highly communicative, and did excellent work. I initially reached out because of a problem with stucco on the exterior of our house. As we were talking, I asked if he could help with plaster repairs due to water damage (from an ice dam in the late winter). He put together a bid, recommended an excellent contractor to help with other aspects of the work, and seamlessly coordinated work with the second contractor. John and his team did great work on the repair and we are grateful for his help in assembling a team to make very needed repairs to our home!

John and his team were excellent! The actually were able to do the job much sooner than I expected which was great because my kitchen ceiling looked very bad. When they were done the ceiling looked much better than even before the ice dams. They protected everything from the dust created and made sure there was no cleaning for me once they left. I contacted John several weeks after the job was done and he was very helpful with some paperwork that I needed for the insurance company. Thank you John and your team!

John responded to my initial request promptly. He asked me to send some photos of the ceiling so he could see what needed to be done and give me a quote. Because he was very busy he was unable to do the job right away, but that was fine with me. When he was able to put me on the schedule he always arranged a day and time with me and then let me know each time exactly when he'd arrive. He always arrived when he said he would. He explained exactly what he would be doing. The job required four trips to allow each coat to dry. On the last trip John built a tent around the area so he could sand it without getting any dust in the house. He was meticulously clean, pleasant and professional. He obviously knew what he was doing. My ceiling now looks perfect.

We received an estimate from John to skim an area in the back stairwell, repair a ceiling crack and damage to one of our walls, skim coat a hallway on the second floor, repair front stairwell ceiling, and entirely skim coat one half of the entire front stairwell. It went really well! They did a great job, and it was easy to see the before and after. They helped me take down the lights and some of the hardware to make sure every surface was re-plastered. At the end, they cleaned up as much plaster as possible and mopped the floor. The crew were incredibly kind and professional. I appreciated them keeping me up to date and being kind to my cat. It was on schedule even given the April snowstorm. I would definitely hire them again.

We live in an all-plaster-walls 1926 house, which we like to keep in good repair. Finding a good plasterer can be hard. We hired United Wall Systems last year to do a similar project, and I did not hesitate to call John again. He surveyed the project and gave me a detailed proposal. We had several extenuating experiences with another contractor missing a deadline, and John was very accommodating to get our small project on to his schedule. The crew reported on time each day and worked under John's supervision to be thorough, contain dust as much as possible, and leave the work site in good condition each day. John is a master plasterer, and he wants the end result to be excellent. Our painter was able to come in the next week and complete his portion of the project in record time. I appreciate John's professionalism, and he has the best work crew ever. They work very hard, but I appreciated sharing a few laughs with them, too. I will use John and his company again.

I had a fairly small job, which was tedious and not a big high dollar job. United Wall responded to my inquiry immediately to ask about the project. You know, with Angies list you pick a professional and hope for the best- I fortunately found the best. The team was prompt at 8:00 a.m, told me they would be finished between 12:00 - 1:00, then went to work. They sealed the kitchen off, and I did not have a trace of dust anywhere. The end result is PERFECT and they were done and out the door by 12:30. I highly recommend John's company, United Wall and his skilled team. You would never be able to distinguish where the repairs were made.
