"Randy Gardner responded immediately to my request for a visit and estimate. He looked inside and outside, and told me I did not need to go to the expense of the drain tile and waterproofing. He said the house (build in 1917) had settled, and that the sidewalk along the side of the house was sinking toward the house, resulting in the water in the basement. He recommended removing the existing sidewalk, and laying new concrete with the proper slope away from the house. Although it was not a cheap fix, it was half of what I feared it would cost. We asked Jason to suggest design with little to no maintenance. He gave more thought to the design than some other designers who also gave higher estimates. The plants should flower at different times, and have nice color contrasts, and be easy maintenance for someone who doesn't want to pay for annual landscaping upkeep.
