"Outstanding service was provided by PipeWorks start to finish. Very clean (booties, drop clothes, no damage), very professional for a reasonable price. I continue to use PipeWorks because they are extremely HONEST and use nothing but quality materials (they know the required plumbing codes) with no short-cuts (no pushy ad-on sales). The plumbers that have done work for me are highly qualified and easy to talk to (they are happy to answer any questions). I come from a family of people across the trades, and I can say PipeWorks is highly respected within the trades."
"The Pure Mechanical Technician showed up on time and went right to work. He explained every step to me as he proceeded. He was a pleasure to chat with throughout the process. An hour and a half later he was in his way and I was making hot water again. The plumbing inspector was very happy with the install and passed it pretty quick. He also explained the finer details of what he call a good install."
"Richard did a great job replacing an in-line valve. He was on time, did the job quickly and efficiently. Great experience. I highly recommend The Pleasant Plumber, Mpls. If I need any plumbing, I will call The Pleasant Plumber going forward. Thanks, Richard."
"Nearby Plumbing arrived when they said they would. The job was top quality, completed on time, clean, and we had no issues after the job was complete! It can be challenging to find a good, trustworthy and reliable plumber. Nearby Plumbing stands out not only for the great work, but also for good communication. We clearly understood the problem, what would be done, and the status of the work project! We highly recommend Nearby Plumbing for any need!"
"Tony was very friendly. He was very concerned about making everything just right with his work. He was very particular. He cleaned up after himself. I would highly recommend him and would definitely hire him again when I am in need of plumbing work."
"He had an excellent price, he did some excellent work, and his customer service was also excellent . I would like highly recommend him for any plumbing work."
"Oscar came over on a Monday evening (7/14) around 6:50pm. Was expecting extra charge for after-hour work but he didn't do that. He did an excellent job with the drain and showed me where the problem was. Also, when he retracted the drain snake, a piece of the old piping, at least 20 years old, came out of the wall and he cut a new piece and replaced the old one. His pricing was cheaper than everyone else who reached out through Angie's List and other companies i reached out to. The completed work was almost cheaper than the price quoted from one company for just coming out to "look" at the project the next day (they would come out today for an extra charge of $150 because it was after 5pm).
Oscar owned the company, Tapia Sewer and Drain, and I definitely recommend anyone looking for good honest work from a hard worker. Oscar left the kitchen spotless when he was done. Thank you Oscar! Will definitely reach out in the future when needed."
"I asked for quotes on a small job from five different companies and Randy's was the only one to call me back. We just needed a little work done to update a couple of lines and get them up to code and functional again. The techs also took the time to explain to me what current code is in the industry, which was most welcome. They also noted I had a surge supresor on one panel, but not a sub panel, so we added that in. As an IT guy with a lot of electronics around the house, keeping the numerous devices safe from a power surge is important to me. What the other installers fail to realize is a small job today may lead to bigger jobs down the line. My wife and I plan to rebuild our garage in the next year or two and install a level II charger for an electric vehicle as well as bring the house up to code as we finish remodeling it. The companies that didn't call me back won't even be asked to bid and the work will instead go to Randy's Electric."
City permits and required inspections dictate your timeline. Simple plumbing like a faucet repair or replacing a toilet flapper takes one visit. Projects like water heater replacement or moving fixtures require a permit and an inspection. In Maple Grove, scheduling an inspection adds one to five business days to the process. Plan for multiple sessions when completing any permitted work, especially during winter when frozen pipes limit contractor availability.

Homeowners underestimate permit requirements for plumbing. For example, replacing a water heater requires a permit and inspection, which delays completion. Because Maple Grove has extremely hard water, you must account for mineral scale buildup complicating simple valve replacements. You must also plan around your water softener system connections. Finally, basement projects require careful coordination with existing sump pumps and radon mitigation systems to ensure a safe and compliant home.

Consider the extremely hard municipal water when planning any plumbing work, as it impacts appliance installations. The city uses chloramine for disinfection, requiring specific filtration media for whole-house systems. Seasonal changes dictate scheduling. Book irrigation winterization early in the fall and expect high demand for sump pump service during spring snowmelts. Always check your HOA rules for exterior projects, and remember that sewer lateral maintenance remains the homeowner's responsibility in MN.

As homes age, your plumbing needs change. Homes built in the 1970s and 1980s face corroding galvanized supply lines and root intrusion in sewer laterals. In houses built between 1985 and 2000, the MN freeze-thaw cycle causes pinhole leaks in copper pipes. Newer homes require routine water softener maintenance and irrigation upkeep. Inspect your sump pump system regularly, as local clay soils and high water tables stress these components over time.
Helpful?
Start by locating your main shutoff valve inside your home. You can safely fix dripping faucets or running toilets by replacing internal components. Clear slow drains with a hand snake, but avoid chemical treatments in older pipes. Test your sump pump by pouring water into the pit. If a shutoff valve feels stuck due to Maple Grove hard water scale, stop immediately. Call a professional to prevent damage and keep your plumbing safe.
