Clean & Green Dryer Vent Experts LLC is owned and operated by a Michigan family. Lead technician Tim is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (www.CSIA.Com) in Dryer vent cleaning, maintenance and repair. Tim is also a licensed builder of the State of Michigan. Tim serves as a proctor for the CSIA and monitors testing and certification of others interested in becoming a certified dryer exhaust technician. We do residential and commercial, single family or multi unit complexes. We are a full service dryer venting and maintenance company. We are fully insured. We wear clean uniforms, drive a clearly marked vehicle and wear photo Identification from the CSIA. For your safety never allow anyone into your home who fails to present proper photo id. A nationally known advocate for safe dryer vents, Mr. Joe Gagnon, has often had Tim as a guest on his radio program, The Appliance Doctor. Joe has often stated that many lives have been saved by Clean & Green. Thousands of house fires occur each year because of a dryer exhaust or chimney that simply was not maintained properly. Many people purchase a new washer and dryer only to have the delivery service connect the dryer to the vent with a foil transition which is illegal and unsafe. Many people call for service to their dryer, the appliance technician most likely changes a part, closes up the machine and leaves. The lint on the bottom of the dryer is left behind…almost always. A dryer must be vented to the outside of a building by law. Not into a garage, not into a bucket with water inside, and not into your attic. The majority of Dryers are heated using natural gas which produces Carbon Monoxide when it leaves the dryer thus must be vented outside. Dryer venting seems to be almost an afterthought to home builders. They go up and out of the roof, they go out the second floor siding, they may travel seventy feet across the basement and go out through the wall. We measure the air velocity at the termination found on the outside of the home, then we measure the air velocity at the dryer. If there is a tremendous difference we may take a backpressure reading as well. In most cases where there is a big difference between the air velocity on the outside and back of the dryer, or if your backpressure is excessive. Obviously your dryer vent needs to be cleaned out from end to end, however house fires do not start inside of a dryer vent! They start inside of your dryer. When you press the on button if you listen you will hear a “Click, Whoosh” type of noise. That is the click of the igniter inserting a little spark into the spray of natural gas and the whoosh is the resulting ignition of that gas. Bad things happen when the dryer vent is plugged and lint accumulates by the inch all over the bottom of your dryer until it’s three or four inches thick and then the whoosh noise can light the whole dryer on fire before you can walk out of your laundry room. Please contact us at 734-377-4175 to schedule your appointment today.

"Tim is a consummate professional. He is a stand-up guy who does not try to sell you products or services you don't need. "McCarver Heating and cooling is probably the worst contractor I have ever worked with. Chris McCarver (the owner is rude and non-responsive). I needed a new compressor for my unit, he waited over 8 days before he called me. When he finally did, he did not even come for a free estimate. He asked to see a photo of the unit. I called the previous AC person, since I was not home and asked for a photo of the unit. I sent it on to McCarver and he showed up after another week. He was not wearing a mask while he was working on the unit. He attempted to install the compressor for 30 minutes and then called me up and announced that the photo sent was a different compressor from the one that was needed. He raised his voice and was complaining how I had him waste his time on this. I could not believe how rude he was. Then his assistant Christine sent a new estimate for the new compressor. $2200 for the compressor. $115 for McCarver showing up and trying to put the wrong part in $125 for freight PLUS they were going to charge freight for the new unit that they ordered. If that doesn’t sound like a scam, I don’t know what does. As you can imagine, we were not going to be punished for a good-faith mistake so we asked to have the whole job canceled. They advertise free estimates which begs the question, why didn't McCarver Mechanical provide a free estimate before ordering a part? Unfortunately, McCarver forces customers into giving deposits. So I deposited $500. It took several emails and complaints to get $375 back. His office manager refused to refund us $125 back. Please avoid McCarver Mechanical at all costs."

Ge Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.

You might need to install a new outlet if there isn’t one already located within 5 feet of the hot tub or if the current outlet you have installed and plan to use with the hot tub isn’t sufficient to carry the required electrical load. Most current hot tub models use 50 to 60 amps and require 220 to 240 volts to function. The cost to install a 220 outlet averages about $220according to HomeAdvisor

Gas dryers heat up more quickly and generate more heat than electric dryers, meaning they dry clothes faster. Using a gas dryer will lower your electricity bill and may even be more gentle on clothing than an electric one.

There’s no need to replace a fridge that’s in working order. That said, if your fridge needs repairs and is nearing the end of its expected lifespan, you should probably consider a replacement. Minor repairs can cost less than $100, but problems tend to add up when your fridge is already old. It’s better to get a new appliance than fix something that’s only going to break repeatedly.

Appliance installation costs around $200 on average, and most installations total between $75 and $600. Some cost factors to consider that can increase your price toward the higher end of that range include the following:

  • You need to pay for long-distance delivery.

  • Your installers need to maneuver up or down stairs or around tight corners.

  • Your appliance needs to be connected to a natural gas line or water line.

  • Your appliance requires extra parts for a proper connection, like an ice maker hook-up kit.

  • Your appliance is oversized.
