"The company contacted me quickly, came the next day and installed a new water spigot with no trouble. They were very courteous and covered their shoes when they came in my house. They also weatherproofed properly and cleaned up when they were done. I'm so happy to have a company like this to call whenever we need a good plumber."

"Five Star Bath Solutions is by far the best in the business at remodeling bathrooms. Their people are always asking if there is anything that need done and if we are happy with their work. "Monday morning (8/28/17) we woke-up to no water. After checking the obvious, circuit breaker, etc., I looked on Angie's list for highly rated well drilling and service companies I called Scott at 5:45am, expecting to leave a message, but he answered the phone and said he could be here by noon. He called back later to say he would come even earlier. He, Jim and Bill replaced my submersible well pump, all new piping and wiring, and air tank with all new fittings, pressure valve, etc. They were respectful, responsive, answering all my questions, and Scott told me up-front, after determining the problem, how much it would cost. The ONLY thing I would say as constructive criticism would be for them to make sure they ensure the area of work is clean and in the shape it was prior to the work being done, but it wasn't bad, and maybe just an oversight. I would definitely use Ries again (but hope there's no reason to)."

"We had our ugly bathroom remodeled in our newly purchased home with Atlas Home Improvement and we are so happy we did! We can't say enough positive things on this company. The two installers were the most wonderful guys and did an amazing job from installation to cleanup everything was done right. They both were helpful, efficient and friendly. Everything, and everyone with Atlas was the best. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again. Happy customers, Beautiful job!"

"Professional and courteous workers. They did a beautiful job of enlarging and updating shower area to accommodate handicap issues. They asked questions and asked for our input. Also, very thorough with clean up. Our main installers were Tom H,& Matt C. At the wrap up of the project. 2 co-workers Nik K. and Deanthony J. Joined them to help wind up the project. If we decide to update our other bathrooms they will definitely be our team."

"My historic home had many design and installation challenges, but the team did an amazing job. They ended up moving my plumbing, building out a few walls, and built the floor under my shower pan. It was a lot of work and it was a unique situation but their work was perfect nonetheless! No detail was spared and my shower is incredible. I could not be happier with the work."

FAQs for plumbing projects in Ray, MI

Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?

  • Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?

  • What happens if any breaks or damages occur?

  • What is your response time in an emergency?

  • Is cleanup included in the quote?

  • Do your services come with a guarantee?

Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.

The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350
