"Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. Even if you purchased your overhead door elsewhere, we can provide outstanding maintenance and repairs on all makes and models. We always provide a free estimate before any installation work begins and a warranty after it’s complete.

"Sales person was misleading by promising the garage door opener to be functional after the install. Installers replaced the door on Friday and as the sales person did not indicate that a broken pulley needs to be replaced - they did not have the part with them. They promised to exchange the pulley and reconnect the door to the opener early next week leaving us without garage door opener over the weekend - with a door without external handle or lock - so pretty inconvenient after paying $540. Nobody called us on Monday and upon our complaints, we were told that the exchange of the pulley (a $7 part) would be a $150 service fee. I was considering having them drive out after I exchanged the pulley (an easy 3 minute repair) as the reconnect was explicitly part of the contract but as they insisted on the pulley repair being not part of the contract I told them to forget it. Overall a petty, unprofessional company that I would not recommend!"

"We had a very disappointing experience with Randazzo Heating & Cooling. A technician came out and claimed a part in our AC unit was broken, quoting us over $700 for the replacement. After the part was installed, the AC still didn’t work. He then said the issue was due to low R22 refrigerant, but also told us that they no longer carry R22 because it's outdated. His solution? Replace the entire unit — at a cost of over $7,000. We end up find someone else to fix the AC. Unfortunately, the $700+ we already paid Randazzo was completely wasted. This experience felt like upselling and misdiagnosis, and we would not recommend this company to anyone looking for honest or competent service."

A few factors determine the amount of time it takes to convert from an oil to a gas furnace, mainly adding in the gas lines, updating your appliances, removing the old oil system, and installing a chimney line. These projects can vary, but you should expect them to take at least two or three days to complete.

Venting a gas water heater out of the roof is preferable in most cases. Heated exhaust gases naturally rise, so a vertical vent pipe is efficient. If you’re trying to vent through a pipe exiting a wall, the angle of the pipe may be more horizontal than vertical, making the venting system less effective. If you go through a wall, you may need to add a fan to ensure a successful expulsion of the gases outdoors.

There isn’t a way to convert electric fireplaces easily or cheaply to gas. The process requires major renovations, as opposed to wood fireplaces, which are often already vented and have space for the gas-burning equipment. To convert an electric fireplace to gas, you’d need to remove your old fireplace and get a completely new install.

Not all gas fireplaces need a chimney. If you install a ventless gas fireplace, it will release low levels of combustion byproducts back into your living space (instead of pushing them outside through a chimney or vent). Ventless fireplaces burn fuel efficiently, so the emissions are minimal—but they could bother people with allergies or respiratory issues.
