This company is not very honest. He came out a couple times, but he did not really fix the problem . He finally comes out to treat the bees, but he brought out his daughter and her boy friend. He made the boy friend do the job and he did not know what he was doing. The gentleman says he walked around with the boyfriend and helped do the work. I asked for contract in writing, because every time he came out his price changed. I have had to call and text quite a bit. He still has not fixed the problem, there are still bees everywhere and I am out the $350.
Response from Buckeye Bee & Wasp Removal

"Can't stay at her home and kill every wasp or bee that lands on her home. I am not a fly swatter. She got what she paid for and more. Everything was explained to her like all my customers. I do not with hold information. I am a removel service not a chemical company. I did as she asked to have done with her property. Her home is not a small it is lake a big apartment building. We treated her home (windows, lights, eve points and caulked all the open holes we could get to. She was informed that spraying the outside of her home would only last a lttle while, so she bought a bottle of the spray we used so she could do it herself later. I think that 3 hours on site 3 people, truck, ladder, cualk, insurance, driving time to and from her place warrents the money she clames was not worth the job. She must be another person that thinks everything should be free or below cost for her. She even looked up the spary the day before we came and told me she looked it u and read the reviews on it and it was great stuff. She even bought a bottle from me right on the spot. She called me a lier by saying I nevver explained any of what I did for her. You can ask of my customers I explain everything I do, because I need well informed customers not people calling back with questions or problems. Thank you for your time and have a great day. Jim"

Called , He was responsive and came over the next day to do the removal. I even sent him pictures of the nests and our house to get an idea of the size of the home.
He shows up with a ladder way too small and says he will come back the next day. OK, No big deal.
I'm not home the next day....so he leaves a bill for $275 stating he had to return to Springfield to get a taller ladder. It's not my fault he had to travel so far and he doesn't carry a two story ladder. He was heading back home anyway!
When I called him on the overcharge he says rudely... "If that's how you want to handle it then fine" and proceeds to hang up.
He has been paid the $175. Will never use this company again. Kept talking about how his partner left him and was supposed to burn the bees at their home location but never did and some bee disease was spreading????

Response from Buckeye Bee & Wasp Removal

"This man is really confused. He told me a normal home and sent a picture of the pitch where the wasps were located. When I arrived to his home he said my latter was to small and his pitch was almost 35' up. Then I looked at his home and found 3 more nests on the front of his home and another one on the other side of the home and he said you can do all of them for the same price. I never confirmed a price, he said he would pay me cash the next morning when I arrived and he was not even around. So I could not tell him more money for a 40' ladder and 5 nests removed let alone the caulking he wanted done. So I guess I work for free."

Mr. Lyons looked around in our bedrooms upstairs where the Yellow Jackets had been coming in for the previous three weeks. He  walked around the outside of our brick-sided house, which is about 80 years old. After awhile he spotted a Yellow Jacket  and followed it to a hole in the brick mortar about fourteen feet up.  He put up a ladder, pumped insecticide into the hole and then caulked it shut. After a couple of minutes there were 40 bees flying around outside the hole, circling like planes in a landing pattern!
Then he went inside and caulked between the baseboards and the carpet (where they had been coming in).  There were bees trapped inside the walls that were not killed immediately by the insecticide.  It took two weeks before the last one appeared.
Neighborhood kids came over to watch Mr. Lyons working. He told them all about bees. He is also a honey-bee keeper.
A very satisfactory outcome. Don't hesitate to call him! You probably won't get rid of bees with RAID!!

Very nice and friendly guy,  but communication was vague and led to big misunderstanding.
We never did business with them.
Response from Buckeye Bee & Wasp Removal

"This man did not understand removal and removal works. Told him a cost to start and we would not know for sure until we opened up the wall if the price would stay at $250 or go up. We told him that if it was going to go up that we would tell him before work would continue. We drove to this mans home twice and never got a dime. We were ready to do his bee removal, amd he said he had to wait and ask his wife then it was other stuff again about pricing. He wanted a firm price that I could not give him. You can't please everyone, but I try."

They tore down the gutter and cut a hole in the porch to get to it and sprayed it with killer. I had to hire another company to come fix the items they tore apart and cut into.
Response from Buckeye Bee & Wasp Removal

"Thank you for your feed back. You were told that if we had to cut open and remove the hive that it was up to the homeowner to get it fixed not our job. We are not contractors. You were informed the whole way, or your adult son was. You had water damaged wood and it needed replaced. I told him that and the knock down we use is not a poison. We used poison only after informing you we could not get to the nest unless we took more of your home apart. You chose to have the poison sprayed and not to remove the hive. Sorry you did not understand the process of what needed to be do or what was explained to you. We take pride in doing our work right and informing the customer of everything. So next time ask if you really do not understand. I asked if you understood me and what we were doing and you said yes. So please put the blame were it belongs on your son and yourself. Old saying in life: right is right, wrong is wrong, and right never wronged nobody."

Jim Lyons is a professional in every facet of his craft. I called him in the morning of 8/29 and he was to my house to take care of the bee infestation that afternoon. Upon removal of the soffit of our 4 level split Jimm knew that he had a prblem. He pulled out an older nest that had been int ehre for a while, pulled out another and another. The first three nests that he pulled out were clearly older nests. The 4th nest was back in the joists about 5 feet and it was within a few hours of having thousands of bees hatching and flying who knows where. The $250 he charged was well worth it and I would definitely recommend him and use him again in the future.

Jim arrived about an hour after I called him on an OSU football Saturday morning and asked for all the details. I told him we had found one yellow jacket in the house the previous day and assumed it had just gotten in through an open door. However, that morning we had found six yellow jackets at different times throughout the morning. We have a 4-year-old and a two-year-old, so this was not a situation we could deal with for long. Jim started by walking the perimeter of the house several times looking for any yellow jacket activity, but he didn't spot any right away. After a brief discussion about where I had seen bees or yellow jackets around the house before, he went back out for another sweep. This time he did spot a yellow jacket near our entryway door. After inspecting the area with a ladder, Jim confirmed that yellow jackets appeared to be going under our roofing near the front door. Then he used a number of techniques to try and find a next - he inspected nearby indoor walls looking for soft areas, removed a light fixture in the bathroom, used a heat sensing gun to search for heat differentials, inspected the crawlspace above our garage, and even removed part of the soffit outside, but no nest was found. At this point, Jim studied the entry way outside to determine how often yellow jackets were arriving at the opening. He pointed out that an active hive should have 5 yellow jackets a second coming or going from the nest area, but there were only two or three yellow jackets every two or three minutes arriving at the entry. He explained that what may have happened was the original nest may have been damaged or destroyed and this group was attempting to establish a new nest in our home late in the summer. He said that based on what he had observed the best option was to spray the entryway on the roof which would kill any returning yellow jackets and trap any remaining ones inside. He also explained that we might still see yellow jackets in our home for another several days to a week, but they should soon either hit the pesticide and die or be killed by us inside the house. He also acknowledged this was not the ideal solution, but given our conditions it was what he could recommend. He charged $100 for the inspection and the spray. He explained everything to me as he inspected the home, and he offered me a six-month guarantee. If this treatment doesn't fix the problem, he will come back again for free. I couldn't be happier with his service.

They only had to come one time because they were able to get rid of the wasps for us on the first visit. They were able to get out quickly when we called them.

We were being swarmed by bees when outside on Sunday. We located where they were going, which was under the second story roof line in the soffit. We contacted Jim on Monday and he came out the very next day. He removed the soffit and uncovered a very large hive of yellow jackets. He removed the hive and gave us some spray to put on ourselves after a week to keep the bees from coming back. Jim was very professional and we were grateful for how quickly he could come out.

Fantastic job!!!  I called at 6pm and they were out here by 8:30pm that day.  The nest was sprayed that was under the eaves of the roof.  This morning I am already seeing far fewer yellow jackets.

I called Jim and he arrived at 7am the next day.  He sprayed the outside entry for the bees and then removed two nests in the attic.  He explained and showed the process along the way.  He definitely knows his expertise.

We were playing in backyard and realized there was a bee swarm the size of a basketball next to our deck. Got on Angie's List and other providers would exterminate the bees. There is a bee shortage so we looked for a beekeeper on Craigslist. Called a couple and Jim answered and was out right away. He was very informative and showed our 6 year old and 8 year old boys how to save the bees and remove from the bush. He talked about the Queen and how the swarm formed. He showed them some wax on the branches and told us the bees were protective of the Queen and do not to intend to hurt us. He did not ask for payment and said he had been over by Wheeling, WV and Marysville, OH today to collect swarms and was going to another call after us. He gave us a card and I gave him $20 at least for gas because he was really cool and came so quickly.
