irrigation repair specialist,landscape lighting repair/install,landscape maintenance/plantings

"Horrible!! Came out to fix a sprinkler head and told my wife they were all set to go off at 7am the one that was repaired never went off so my wife called to explain the situation and days later we received a call back that Todd was going to be in our subdivision and he’d stop by to look at.. after arriving he said it was on a different timer and was working which completely contradicts what he originally educated my wife... He then charged my wife for service that wasn’t requested or disclosed prior to our visit and borderline bullied my wife for money and refused to send us an invoice. The man is unprofessional, rude and borderline Crooked.. He cared more about a $45 service fee then having a happy client... I would never refer him!!"

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

When it comes to combatting the effects of soil compaction, core aeration does a far better job for a longer period of time—because it actually removes dirt rather than just pressing holes into it. By taking dirt out from under your lawn, core aeration allows more light, air, water, and nutrients to penetrate into the soil below and help your grass’s roots grow even stronger.

The screwdriver test involves trying to push a screwdriver into your lawn. If it goes in easily, you’re likely overwatering and should cut back. If there’s moderate resistance, you have a good watering schedule and soil composition. If there’s a lot of resistance or you can’t get the screwdriver into the soil, you may need to aerate your lawn to reduce compaction and increase your watering schedule.

First, make sure you’re watering your grass early in the morning (and keep in mind you don’t have to water every day). Doing this helps ensure the water is able to soak in before the hot temps evaporate all of the water. Also, when you mow, don’t mow your grass as short as you would in non-drought conditions. Taller grass can help slow down the rate at which soil dries out. Finally, take your leftover lawn clippings and spread them out across the lawn to give it a little extra shade and nutrients.

Generally once yearly or twice if the lawn experiences high traffic or is part of heavy clay soils.

If it’s been a few weeks and you haven’t seen anything pop up, double-check your seed packet and make sure you didn’t miss any steps. Did they need cold stratification (putting seeds in the freezer and then transferring to water before planting)? Do they have an exceptionally long germination period?

If you’ve followed all of the directions closely, you may just have had a bad batch of seeds. (Sadly, it happens.)
