Shoner Plumbing and Mechanical
5.0
I've had Shoner out for 3 different jobs now....I didn't want to have a plumber out, but it was necessary. I did some research and ultimately hired Shoner, and it was a great decision. Their prices were very fair, and they did excellent work. The plumber who has completed all of our jobs (Alex) was great - very timely in responses/communication, seems very knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and was fair about what repairs are actually needed (i.e., not trying to "upsell" or overstate what is needed). I would highly recommend Shoner for your plumbing needs

The company called on the morning of the appt. and the plumber called us 15 minutes before he was expected and arrived on time, looked at our drain, cleaned it out and was done in 20min. He was very polite and professional. I will use them again.

Miles Plumbing & Heating

The boiler at the Lansing Woman's Club died on December 7, 2021. Mike from Miles Plumbing and Heating was the only one of 4 contractors to actually take pictures of our old boiler and send them to his supply person on-the-spot. Within 24 hours he had a new unit located. The price was competitive. Within 10 days the new unit had arrived from New York and Mike and his team set about removing the old boiler, taking care to protect all the flooring material at the clubhouse. The entire crew was punctual, professional, and extremely courteous in answering questions about boilers in general and this installation specifically. Despite all of this happening over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, Miles had the new system up and running on January 5, 2022. Our club is profoundly thankful and grateful to Miles Plumbing and Heating for the quality work they did, and would recommend them without reservation

We were very blessed to find Mihai and his crew to help us with our condo renovation during the pandemic. Mihai was very attentive to details, conscientious, organized, responsive and cooperative, all of which made our project possible since we lives in different state. Mihai was always very accessible and communicated with every little detail which made me feel like I'm there for the whole project. Everyone of the crew was very efficient and professional and a lot of times they were very patient since our project took way much longer time than expected because of the pandemic and the difficulty in getting some materials on time. Mihai was able to find solutions to so many issues and difficulties we faced since our condo is in high-rise building where there are lots of rules and prohibitions. I challenged Mihai many times with different ideas and he was up for the challenge without problems. I highly recommend Mihai and his crew for any project your home might need

They did a good job. I was happy with that. They were very good. I was very pleased with them. They were very prompt and very professional on what they did. I didn’t really compare them to other but I would say that their pricing is competitive. I think they were fair.

Palmer Construction
5.0
Palmer's entire team is professional, punctual, and responsive. We renovated a kitchen and doubled the footprint. A wall that was to be removed was not initially felt to be load bearing. Upon opening the walls it became apparent that it was indeed bearing. Palmer worked quickly with our architect and an engineer to find a solution. The remedy required pouring a footing in the basement, a new post in the basement, and three LVL beams in the kitchen ceiling. All of this work added to the budget but hardly set back the schedule. Palmer is willing to work with a hands-on / DIY homeowner as well. I was able to do the demolition, build and install the cabinetry, do the tile work, and painting myself in order to save some money. Palmer was always available to answer questions and made sure that work I did was correct. Dan Smeak was our project manager and Dale (?surname) was our onsite foreman. Both are the epitome of professional. They were willing to listen when I noticed things that were not to my liking as the project progressed and corrected them very quickly. For instance, I asked them to raise a window so that two windows were level as opposed to the same distance from the floor (old house, uneven floor), and they did it the next day. They organized the subcontractors well and when we had issues with work of the subs they remedied it. Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience and will definitely use them again in the future. A blog of the project is available at www.martinrenovation.blogspot.co

Our experience with Palmer was excellent. Dan Smeak was knowledgeable, efficient and professional from the initial consultation and inspection of our old roof, to providing information about roofing options through scheduling the job. The installation went very, very well, with the whole roof being completed in just one day. The work site was cleaned up completely after the project was done. Wonderful work

Palmer provided a thorough evaluation of the situation. Recommended a conservative option which I agreed to. Was a little hard to reconnect with them (maybe because this was a small job in the middle of the busy season). But once scheduled, they did a great job.

We’re also happy to help configure plumbing systems for your residential or light commercial projects. Rocky Staudinger, owner and full operator, has been plumbing for over 15 years now and truly enjoys working directly with his..
"Rocky and his assistant Mike completed a variety of plumbing projects at my home including replacement/installation of a new kitchen faucet, replacement.installation of a frost-free outdoor faucet, removal of an in-line/whole house water filter unit no longer needed, and the very tricky removal/replacement of a broken kitchen drain pipe which caused flooding in my finished basement. Rocky responded almost immediately to my call, sent Mike out to assess the situation, and an estimate was provided before work commenced five days later. Rocky/Mike arrived on time, were very happy to answer questions and discuss options, got right to work, and kept at it with minimal fuss and disruption until everything had been repaired and met both my and their expectations/approval. Estimate was honored in spite of the need to also replace/provide some unanticipated faucet supply lines. This was the first time I had used Plumbing Works. Found them initially on Thumbtack. Nice their located in Mason as I prefer to support local/family-owned businesses when I can. Couldn't have been more pleased. Highly recommend. Thank you. Good job, guys!

"After receiving three bids, we decided to work with Brad and Lauri of Carpentry Plus and we are so glad we did. The remodel was comprised of about 2/3 of our downstairs space including the kitchen, dining room, laundry room, 1/2 bath and the adjoining hallway, plus the flooring in our foyer and sunporch. We were extremely happy with the quality of their work, the consistent professionalism and thoughtful care and advice as we worked through a complex project. The work included removal of walls, reworking air runs, lots of wood working including matching colors, installing new cabinets and countertops, new flooring, paint, electrical, plumbing and new windows. Carpentry Plus provided many great ideas, was flexible, which was necessary as the project took place during the COVID-19 shut-down and treated our project as if it was their own home. We have already signed up for some additional projects with them and expect that Carpentry Plus to be our go-to contractor in the future.
"Excellent job. No complaints. Will call again if needed. Will recommend to my friends and family. They also went above and beyond the call of duty. I needed a little extra done and they were more than happy to help me out. Call them if you need your tub redone!!!"

Sump pumps—the machines that protect your basement from water damage—require proper maintenance. Regular cleaning and testing will help extend your unit’s lifespan. This guide explains the importance of sump pump maintenance.
It can be tricky to install a new bathroom sink, but if you follow these seven steps, the installation will go a whole lot easier. You can expect a DIY project to take about an afternoon, unless you decide to hire a plumber instead.
Answer: The cost of a plumber ranges from $175 to $480, with a national average of $330. However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. These costs typically include toilet repairs, faucet installations, and leaky pipes. In addition to the service call, you may also need to budget for haul-away and trip fees often required during more complicated jobs. Ask your local plumbing contractor about these fees before hiring them.
How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?
Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Depending on the brand you choose and the features you want, a new toilet might run you anywhere from $100 to $1,300. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.
How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?
Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.
Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?
Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.
How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?
Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.
Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?
Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
