Small jobs welcome

"Keith, And Ty were professional from beginning to end. I hired them to do storm cleanup and pull weeds. They did a very good job at all of it without leaving any residue behind. They were kind to me and very respectful being that I am a senior woman. They were dedicated to what they were doing by making sure the job was done right and the cleanup was done right. Because the first job was done so well, I immediately hired them for a second job, which was done just as well. I highly recommend both of them for any job you may need done."

Small jobs welcome

"The Lush Lawn company sprayed for spiders and other bugs around my home. I haven't seen any around yet, so I think it working out so far. I'll try them again and possibly write a better review. I recommend trying them. Their customer service was really good. Very helpful in setting up a appointment for me. I'll give them another try next year for sure!"

"Chris was awesome! He takes pride in his work. He is very detailed oriented about his work. If you’re not happy, he’s not happy. He works by himself is very quick about getting things done. He loves what he does and that goes a long way for me. I was the first one to hire him in my subdivision. After he installed my system he installed my next door neighbor system and then went across the street and installed another system. After everything said and done he actually did nine systems in my subdivision. If you want Chris to install a sprinkling system in this year, you better call him NOW, His phone number is 517 303 9070 Don’t think about it, just do it. Great value. You won’t be sorry."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

You have several excellent green options for leaf removal in MI. The seasonal curbside pickup program runs from mid-October through late November, turning your yard waste into municipal compost. Use paper yard waste bags, as plastic is not accepted. Alternatively, mulch leaves directly into your lawn. Michigan State University Extension recommends this practice to improve clay-heavy soils and protect native ground-nesting bees over the winter.

Helpful?

The primary season runs from mid-October through mid-November, aligning exactly with the city curbside collection schedule. Act quickly before the first hard frost freezes debris to the ground. Properties with oak trees require a second round of leaf removal in November. You must clear your lawn before consistent winter snowfall begins. Leaving a thick mat of wet leaves promotes snow mold and permanently damages Michigan turf grass.

Helpful?

Address small accumulations before October rains make them waterlogged and dangerously heavy to move. You should clear leaves from sidewalks and curb strips to comply with Lansing ordinances. Safely sweep debris away from street storm drains to prevent localized flooding. Never burn leaves, as the city strictly prohibits it. Complete these minor leaf removal tasks before the mid-October hard frost freezes debris to your surfaces.

Helpful?

Start by learning the local curbside pickup schedule so you never miss the collection window. Your first leaf removal priority is clearing gutters and downspouts before the mid-October hard freeze hits MI. Next, remove debris around your foundation perimeter to protect aging waterproofing. Finally, clear your adjacent sidewalks and curbs. City ordinances hold homeowners responsible for this space, even if the leaves fall from municipal street trees.

Helpful?

Delaying leaf removal directly impacts your drainage infrastructure. Leaves trapped against your foundation or inside basement window wells hold moisture, increasing the risk of basement flooding in Lansing homes. Clogged gutters trap late fall rain, causing severe winter ice dams. Inspect your yard drains and downspouts regularly. Blockages force surface water toward your foundation, putting unnecessary strain on your sump pump and underground clay drain tiles.
