Shoner Plumbing and Mechanical
5.0
I've had Shoner out for 3 different jobs now....I didn't want to have a plumber out, but it was necessary. I did some research and ultimately hired Shoner, and it was a great decision. Their prices were very fair, and they did excellent work. The plumber who has completed all of our jobs (Alex) was great - very timely in responses/communication, seems very knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and was fair about what repairs are actually needed (i.e., not trying to "upsell" or overstate what is needed). I would highly recommend Shoner for your plumbing needs

The company called on the morning of the appt. and the plumber called us 15 minutes before he was expected and arrived on time, looked at our drain, cleaned it out and was done in 20min. He was very polite and professional. I will use them again.

Miles Plumbing & Heating

The boiler at the Lansing Woman's Club died on December 7, 2021. Mike from Miles Plumbing and Heating was the only one of 4 contractors to actually take pictures of our old boiler and send them to his supply person on-the-spot. Within 24 hours he had a new unit located. The price was competitive. Within 10 days the new unit had arrived from New York and Mike and his team set about removing the old boiler, taking care to protect all the flooring material at the clubhouse. The entire crew was punctual, professional, and extremely courteous in answering questions about boilers in general and this installation specifically. Despite all of this happening over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, Miles had the new system up and running on January 5, 2022. Our club is profoundly thankful and grateful to Miles Plumbing and Heating for the quality work they did, and would recommend them without reservation

We were very blessed to find Mihai and his crew to help us with our condo renovation during the pandemic. Mihai was very attentive to details, conscientious, organized, responsive and cooperative, all of which made our project possible since we lives in different state. Mihai was always very accessible and communicated with every little detail which made me feel like I'm there for the whole project. Everyone of the crew was very efficient and professional and a lot of times they were very patient since our project took way much longer time than expected because of the pandemic and the difficulty in getting some materials on time. Mihai was able to find solutions to so many issues and difficulties we faced since our condo is in high-rise building where there are lots of rules and prohibitions. I challenged Mihai many times with different ideas and he was up for the challenge without problems. I highly recommend Mihai and his crew for any project your home might need

They did a good job. I was happy with that. They were very good. I was very pleased with them. They were very prompt and very professional on what they did. I didn’t really compare them to other but I would say that their pricing is competitive. I think they were fair.

Palmer Construction

Palmer's entire team is professional, punctual, and responsive. We renovated a kitchen and doubled the footprint. A wall that was to be removed was not initially felt to be load bearing. Upon opening the walls it became apparent that it was indeed bearing. Palmer worked quickly with our architect and an engineer to find a solution. The remedy required pouring a footing in the basement, a new post in the basement, and three LVL beams in the kitchen ceiling. All of this work added to the budget but hardly set back the schedule. Palmer is willing to work with a hands-on / DIY homeowner as well. I was able to do the demolition, build and install the cabinetry, do the tile work, and painting myself in order to save some money. Palmer was always available to answer questions and made sure that work I did was correct. Dan Smeak was our project manager and Dale (?surname) was our onsite foreman. Both are the epitome of professional. They were willing to listen when I noticed things that were not to my liking as the project progressed and corrected them very quickly. For instance, I asked them to raise a window so that two windows were level as opposed to the same distance from the floor (old house, uneven floor), and they did it the next day. They organized the subcontractors well and when we had issues with work of the subs they remedied it. Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience and will definitely use them again in the future. A blog of the project is available at www.martinrenovation.blogspot.co

The work and experience was fantastic. It's hard to put confine my comments to the kitchen, but simultaneously they worked in my laundry room, family room, bathroom, entry way and sun room. The entire process was completed in 3 months (unheard of for this extensive of a process). Palmer Construction was always asking about my satisfaction and was quick to respond to any concerns I had. At one stage during construction, we had an issue with the plumbing, which, of course raised its head around 10pm at night. Andy Palmer was at our house within a half hour and the issue was addressed immediately. I will use Palmer Construction for any future remodeling/building needs

Dan has been the project manager working with Dustin. The two of them are pros but the most amazing part of their efforts was putting up with our 14 y.o. very ill german shephard. He was deaf and becoming quite senile. He would just stand in their way and to watch two very busy workers paint around the dog, not ever both him and take a moment every time they passed him to say a kind word, take him to his yard, give him treats, etc. When our Mikey passed they seemed as sad as we were. They are more a part of the family now instead of contractors. There is no other contractor we would ever use

"Rocky and his assistant Mike completed a variety of plumbing projects at my home including replacement/installation of a new kitchen faucet, replacement.installation of a frost-free outdoor faucet, removal of an in-line/whole house water filter unit no longer needed, and the very tricky removal/replacement of a broken kitchen drain pipe which caused flooding in my finished basement. Rocky responded almost immediately to my call, sent Mike out to assess the situation, and an estimate was provided before work commenced five days later. Rocky/Mike arrived on time, were very happy to answer questions and discuss options, got right to work, and kept at it with minimal fuss and disruption until everything had been repaired and met both my and their expectations/approval. Estimate was honored in spite of the need to also replace/provide some unanticipated faucet supply lines. This was the first time I had used Plumbing Works. Found them initially on Thumbtack. Nice their located in Mason as I prefer to support local/family-owned businesses when I can. Couldn't have been more pleased. Highly recommend. Thank you. Good job, guys!

"I had my appointment with Mr. Harmond W. on May 07, 2022. It was rather easy to set up appointments and the site makes it rather easy to reschedule (which I've had to do). Mr. Harmond W. was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I've read great reviews about his appointments on here. We pinpointed the problem by process of elimination. For my particular model (Whirlpool) he's seen the common water leak issue I was experiencing. Oftentimes, filter housings need to be replaced. Mr. Harmond W. just confirmed my observation and I am glad I may now rectify the issue. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Harmond W. sent me the exact part needed via email . One may shop around at different retailers to purchase the part. Neli also sells appliance OEM parts as well by partnering with other companies. I will be going with another retailer/seller since the price was much lower with a good return policy and a protection plan option as well. For $35, one can't beat that. A diagnostic evaluation alone may range from $150 and up. I was able to pinpoint the problem and order the part. I won't be arranging for an appointment to self-install. One has to know where to draw the line. I will hire someone once I have the part in hand. I already have someone in mind, also referred by Angi. Luckily, I didn't have to do any thing too cumbersome. I gained some handy tools at well. I really liked using the nutdriver vs a screwdriver. So I've added all the necessary tools I need for the appointment to my collection, and they will be handy in the future. Overall this was an optimal experience and I would certainly refer and use Neli in the future. If you are confident in unscrewing/re-screwing, and removing parts of your appliance, I'd say give it a try. NOTE: Also understand that this an all virtual service. An appliance repair professional doesn't not come to your home at no point in time. Neli offers self- diagnostic guidance to determine the issue with your appliances. Neli sends you the part number. You purchase it, and then may opt to make another appointment to install the part. If the task is too difficult, then you may opt to hire an appliance repair professional. It's up to you to decide. Please read and understand your referrals before posting comments and discrediting businesses.

"Tremendous service! I've been lucky enough to have few plumbing problems since I moved into this house 18 years ago, but have never called the same plumber twice. Called this guy yesterday, Friday, (after 5pm) hoping to get someone out Monday for a toilet clog, and he set me up for today at noon. Called at 10:45 to say he'd finished his previous job and wondered if he could come early, which he did. Since he WAS running early, I additionally asked for his opinion on a slow-running sink, which he helpfully gave. In and out within 15 minutes, very reasonable rate, this is a plumber I will definitely call again and recommend to others.

All Phase Remodeling, Inc. is a design/build company established in 1985 by Lyle Whittaker, C.G.R. to serve the Greater Lansing Area. The name All Phase Remodeling was chosen out of a desire to assist clients with "all phases" of home improvement and to meet the changing needs of our clients over the years - from great room additions for the growing family, to converting bathtubs into showers and adding grab bars or ramps for those who need to make their homes safer as they age-in-place.

"Lyle gave me a competitive estimate and a reasonable start date. He took great care to make sure the door style in the new room matched the existing doors and his painter did a superior job matching the existing stain for the new doors and wood work. His carpenter Mike is amazing. Heather was great about answering all of my questions during the entire project. My realtor told me that the new room added a lot of value to my new house.

However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?
Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.
How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?
Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.
Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?
Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.
How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?
Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.
Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?
Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
