"Jason and James were complete professionals. They ran into some interesting issues in my 85 year old home, with much original plumbing. Nothing got in their way of leaving me with a beautiful shower/tub. And they left the worksite spotless. Thanks guys,,"

"Jonathan did me real solids today. Despite the fact that they were here to clean up bascially messes left by the installers on my HVAC on both AC and furnace, he AGAN went ABOVE and BEYOND when he noticed I was doing my own plumbing project. We had hot water seeping out with our water main shut off on a fixture exchange, and he pointed out we can drain the hot water heater partially to stop this. The last plumber didn't eve care to share this, or even do it. I will not go ANY OTHER PLACE than Service Professor for my plumbing, HVAC and electrical needs. PERIOD. No one else compares!"

"We received quotes from 3 companies as we began planning a partial bathroom renovation ( tub / shower upgrade). Our sales rep explained the renovation process in great detail and introduced us to our construction supervisor via phone the same day we signed our contract. The quality of the materials this company uses far surpasses that of the other 2 companies even though there wasn't much difference in the price quotes."

"Two men showed up on-time about 9:15 for the one-day install. They put down tarps to protect all the floors, and cleaned up everything when they were finished. They had to remove and re-install a door and jamb to get the tub into the bathroom. Workmanship was excellent. Plumbing and electrical work is flawless.  Tub installation and trim work was almost perfect.  One wall tile where the wall meets the floor at the edge of the tub was cracked.  We were not prepared for the 24 to 48 hour wait for the caulk to fully cure before being able to use the tub, but it only makes sense.  They were done and gone by 4:15 PM.
We were told ahead of time that our 40 gallon water heater might not be large enough to supply the tub which take about 55 to 58 gallons.  After turning up the temperature on the water heater we now have just enough hot water to fill the tub to the desired temperature. As I said, we were aware that a 40 gallon water heater might not be large enough.  A remaining task for us is to get an anti-scald device installed on the water heater for general safety while keeping a tank full of very hot water.
Atlas returned a couple of weeks after the installation, located the matching piece at a nearby tile supplier, and replaced the cracked piece.  Also they re-caulked a piece of the trim that was installed to cover the old shower door frame screw anchor holes."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Worn-out rubber washers or O-rings are some of the most common causes of a leaky tub faucet. These small rubber parts create watertight seals within the faucet. However, they can deteriorate over time because of mineral deposits and water pressure. If you have a cartridge-style faucet, a cracked or damaged cartridge can also be the culprit. Regular use of the handles wears down these faucet parts, and they eventually start allowing water to seep through and create a drip.

It is generally not recommended to pour hot or boiling water down a drain to unfreeze pipes due to significant risks. In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.

Yes, it’s necessary to have a sink drain stopper. While your sink will still work without a stopper, a stopper is necessary to keep things other than water from going down into your pipes and potentially clogging them. It prevents plumbing problems by keeping out unwanted debris and objects like hair, soap, toothpaste, dirt, and jewelry.

The amount of time it takes to repipe a bathroom depends on how much piping needs to be replaced and how accessible the pipes are. Smaller, easily accessible jobs may only take a few hours, but projects that require drywall removal or removing old pipes or large clogs can take several days.

It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours to drain the water lines in a house. Larger homes or homes with more complex systems will take more time, while smaller homes with a single bathroom and fewer appliances will take less time. Turning off the water and opening all the faucets should only take a few minutes to half an hour, but the rest of the job is time spent waiting for the water to drain.
