"I needed to have my dryer vent cleaned so I contacted Dryer Vent Wizzard due to their outstanding reviews/reputation. Eric who is the owner came out to my home. He was very professional, knowledgeable, sincere/friendly and explained everything in detail to me that needed to be done. I would highly recommend this company to anyone for the outstanding service that I received."
"Very professional service. Techs arrived at the time expected. Service was explained before they started to work with the price agreed. All my returns were deep cleaned, vents, bathroom fans were cleaned along with a deep cleaning of the dryer vent. Highly recommend and very pleased."
"They were very professional and took care not to track in any dirt in and out of the house. After cleaning out vents, they showed us where we had some mold and rust. They recommended "mold remediation" which was approx $2,600. We were unsure whether to do it, but based on fact that we have lived in house for 12 years and the house is 60 years old had it done. Can't really comment on the quality of that work or whether we really needed it. "
"The technician was highly professional. Thanks to his work, the vent was thoroughly cleaned. The dryer now runs efficiently without overheating. Thank you — highly recommended!"
"Damien did an outstanding job cleaning the air ducts, furnace, and dryer vent in our home. He was prompt, professional, and fairly priced. I appreciated him explaining the process as well. We will definitely use Macks Home Services again!"
"There are two different teams that do these services, so the dryer was scheduled first, and that guy also did the on-site estimate for the gutter cleaning dryer vent- cleaned the vent, but did not clean the dryer itself, $150 gutter cleaning-for 2-story single family home, cleaned gutters, performed water check to look for leaks, but did not find any leaks, $400 Pros- easy to reach, were able to schedule gutter cleaning within one week, while most other companies were scheduling 3 to 4 weeks out Cons- on phone, was told starting price for gutter cleaning was $150. Once the estimator came out it went up to $400- quite an increase! I was not home, so called back to ask for an explanation on the price increase, the woman I intially spoke with became very defensive when questioned, and finally stated the $150 was the starting price for a townhouse, but... I had told her on the initial phone call that the house was a 2-story single family home with walkout basement, so the back gutters were 30 feet high...so I felt that they were misleading on the inital pricing. The company I have used before gave me a quote of $250, but could not get me on their schedule for 3 weeks. In the end, I was willing to pay a higher price to just get it done within the week."
"I initially was going to have just the dryer vents cleaned but decided to also have the air ducts and vents cleaned since I have lived in the house for 10 years and never had this done. I was amazed! Dan (the technician) took pictures which I am too embarrassed to post. I had a tear in the dryer vent which I was not aware of so I had the hose replaced. I was very impressed with the quality of the work that was done and I highly recommend Dan."
"Our electric clothes dryer blew a thermal fuse because it got too hot. Fixed that but suspected a dryer duct blockage caused the high temperature. Found Chimney Masters through Angi. Requested quote. Good communication and scheduling process. Not cheap but reasonable price for the work done clearing out a 28 ft dryer vent that exists above the second story. Reasonable enough to do on their recommended every other year schedule. The cleaning made a mess outside but they cleaned everything up. They even reattached the dryer with a new flex duct. Would hire again."
Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts
Condensation in your dryer can create a dangerous situation. It can cause lint to clog up the venting components of the system. If you have a gas-powered dryer, excessive lint buildup can create the potential for carbon dioxide buildup within your home. Clogged vent systems can also be a severe fire hazard.
Regularly check and clean the lint screen, inspect vent connections, and ensure proper airflow to maintain clear vents and reduce blockages or buildup.
If you're dealing with an odor in your dryer that transfers onto your clothes and linens, here's what you can do: start by cleaning the lint trap and drum with warm soapy water. Then wipe down the interior using a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to eliminate any lingering odors.
To get rid of odors you can try this method: take a cloth soaked in vinegar and put it inside the dryer. Run the dryer on a heat setting for 15 minutes. Afterward, make sure to dry the drum by running it with some towels. This technique helps eliminate any smells and leaves your dryer smelling nice and fresh.
If the odors remain, you may need to sanitize your dryer or call in a professional house cleaner to handle the job.
You’ll find the backdraft damper near the top of the range hood (where it connects to the ductwork). However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.
Using a leaf blower to clean your dryer vent is not recommended. While it might seem like a quick solution, it can push lint and debris further into the vent, creating a blockage, making the problem worse, and posing a fire hazard. The force from the blower could also damage the vent itself. For a safe and effective cleaning, it is better to use specialized tools, such as a dryer vent cleaning kit with a rotating brush head that scrubs the lint from the ductwork. Alternatively, hiring a professional will ensure the vent is cleaned thoroughly and safely.
