"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Jarvis is your complete custom kitchen companion. We provide kitchen, outdoor, garage and entertainment appliances with exacting precision and professional installation. Jarvis combines beauty, functionality and Energy Star savings in ways you never thought possible. We have built our business solely for the purpose of serving you the best way possible. Jarvis is also a factory approved, full service dealership. Our service and parts department is open 6 days a week to help you with your repair needs. When you shop at Jarvis Appliance, you get quality and value at one low price. Our sales staff will help educate and guide you to the appliance that most suits your individual style, needs and budget. Since 1971, Jarvis has been providing service fit for our customers and their home.

"Excellent service, competitive pricing, dedicated to getting the job done right, thorough attention to detail in both sales and installation, punctual, conscientious, hard working, and they really listen to customer concerns. We needed to replace four 20-year old Maytag appliances. Jarvis sales rep, Jimmy, showed me how to save money by purchasing all four appliances from a single manufacturer for additional rebates. He further encouraged me to wait until Jarvis had its Black November sale for more aggressive pricing. Jimmy also found and offered me a top-of-the-line microwave that’s a floor model that he could sell me brand new (ie., with all the warranties, etc) for less than the model we were considering. Jarvis not only excelled at sales but installation too. Their standard operating procedure is to send out a seasoned installer to the site and confirm that the appliances will fit properly as well as anticipate any additional materials or changes that might be needed to make the installation run smoothly. Well that didn't happen by mistake in our case. What really impressed me was how much effort they made to make up for this oversight and ensure that we would be satisfied. When the installers arrived, they realized that three of the four appliances would require special handling to fit and work properly. The microwave oven was much larger than its predecessor. The cooktop was smaller than the hole in the counter space, just like the previous cooktop. And the wall oven needed a higher voltage circuit breaker, a larger hole in the wall, and some wall tiles would need to be removed, cut and regrouted. The installers were resourceful and cooperative. They did the best they could and made everything fit and work properly. The wall oven, however, still needed a new circuit breaker, and the tile still needed to be cut and regrouted. The cooktop also used the same old plastic frame to fit on top of the counter. Kevin, CEO and head of installation, visited our home several times to order the parts needed, get the tile cut (note: we checked with several stores like Home Depot and Lowes who refused to cut the tile) correctly, and reinstall the tile to match its previous decor. He had to order a special new frame for the cooktop from California. He installed the circuit breaker and got everything done within a month, despite the heavy volume of sales from the Black November sales event. Jarvis did not charge us for any of this extra attention and service. (note: Best Buy told me that I would have had to pay an electrician to install the new circuit breaker as well as cut the tile and reinstall it myself. They don't do it.) We were very pleased with the conscientious way that Kevin paid attention to every detail to make sure that the job was done right. Jarvis clearly deserves a 5-STAR rating and I would not only recommend them to anyone, I would only use them again."

Selecting a fireplace, stove or log set for your home can be daunting. Often many hearth stores only have only a few model types of each unit on display and you may get very different opinions with sales people using different terminology that only confuses the situation. But please don't dismay and give up, visit Day or Night Home & Hearth. Our showroom is one of the largest hearth showrooms in the mid-Atlantic. Our friendly knowledgeable staff is here to help you, so don't be surprised when we ask lots of questions! Not only do we have the best selection, we also have the best guarantees and warranties of any Hearth Shop in the area, see what our goof proof warranty is all about.

"The service was excellent, it was good, they came and did the cleaning, protected everything and checked everything out and made sure that everything is working fine. They were a good company to work with, as we are a repeat customer of theirs."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

Most repairs take 1-3 hours, but ordering specialty parts may extend turnaround time.

The answer to repairing vs. replacing appliances depends on the type of appliance, the severity of the issue or damage, and the quality of it. If you’ve purchased a top-of-the-line small appliance, it’s almost always more cost-effective to repair it than to replace it. You should also consider the cost to repair it, though. If the repair cost is more than half the cost of a new version, lean toward purchasing a new one. Your small appliance technician could also help you decide by determining the expected remaining lifespan after the repair.

Convection ovens can run longer baking cycles without drying the food out, and the fan and vent ensure even heat distribution in all directions. Therefore, a convection oven is perfect for roasting a large chunk of meat or cooking multiple items on different racks at the same time. Convection ovens also take less time to preheat, making them a great timesaver.

Most professional appliance removal companies will not expect a tip, but offering one is a good way to show appreciation for a job well done. A tip of 10% to 20% is a good idea if your professionals are working in the rain or snow, if they take extra care not to damage your walls and furniture in the removal process, or if they need to maneuver the appliance through tight spaces or up or down stairs to get it out of your home.

Nearly all oven doors are removable when you want to perform your regular oven maintenance tasks. However, you may have an unusual model that does not allow you to remove the door. If you are struggling to figure out how to remove the door, refer to your oven owner’s manual to learn if your door is removable and how you can remove it.
