We had already talked to other kitchen remodelers and had a good idea about the type of cabinets we wanted. Brien took measurements, showed us catalogs of different cabinets and offered his own experiences with different floorings and such. He explained that his company started with all the "bells and whistles" in the design and estimate, and that we'd work back from there based on cost. He invited us to his showroom to not only look at samples, but to sit down with his designer to hammer out our vision.
Emily (the designer) was a delight to work with. She took Brien's measurements and our preferences to produce a stunning design for our new kitchen. Throughout the process she offered her own design ideas based on her personal and professional, kitchen remodeling experiences. We made our choices of cabinets, counter top, and flooring while looking through all the samples at the showroom. She provided us with detailed drawings of our kitchen design along with estimates. We took those home to digest and tweak, making an appointment with Brien to come out again and take more finite measurements.
Brien came back out to our home to finalize the scope of the job. Utilizing Emily's design printouts he walked us through what all was required to turn our dream into reality. He offered his own suggestions regarding our tweaks to the design. We took a few days to digest everything we learned, and to figure out what we could afford to do.
We decided to commit to Courtyard Kitchens for our remodel. We met with Emily again to finalize design changes and costs. She and Brien provided us with start and completion dates for our project. Despite a glitch from a supplier (a wrong piece shipped) that needed to be replaced, the guys adhered to their schedule.
Brien's team consisted of Kevin and Kirby, with electrical support from Dan, and drywall finishing from Steve. Granite counter tops were finished by Counter Intelligence. This team was knowledgable, professional and courteous. They worked quickly and efficiently, cleaning up after themselves as the work progressed. They answered the multitude of questions that I had each day as I watched the work progress. They provided me with tips on how I could do some other home improvement projects myself as well as adapting to changes to the original scope of work, that I requested.
We couldn't be more pleased with the final result. Family and friends are blown away at our kitchen transformation, and the quality of workmanship provided by the guys of Courtyard Kitchens. We've recommended them to others who are planning a remodel and will without a doubt call upon this team to help us remodel several baths in our home. We were extremely pleased to learn that the installtion side of the business is not limited to just kitchens.
