"Fantastic service and is now my go-to for any HVAC issues. AC wasn’t blowing cold in June during covid. Hopped on Internet to look for good reviewed HVAC repair and the first couple of good reviewed places I called either weren’t taking new clients or who’s first available appointments were weeks away. Called MD H&C and they were able to fit me in the following day. They gave me the price of each step BEFORE performing the step and making sure I consent (i.e. our diagnosis fee is X amount, ok your issue is this...the cost to fix it plus the diagnosis will cost Y, etc). There also were no hidden charges. The number I was provided was what I paid and I thought a very fair/good number. They also educated me each step of the way and showed me what caused the issue and how they would fix it. I have dial zone HVAC with both the same condescending unit brands for each level. They even checked the 2nd one out free of charge and fixed some things to prevent the same issue from happening in that one in the future (it was on its way to the same issue). Cannot recommend Maryland Heating and Cooling enough. Will use them for all my future needs!"

"I had them replace my entire HVAC system (furnance + AC). They did a great job through the whole process. Out of four quotes I received, they were the only ones that took the time to do a full heating and cooling load calculation for my house when they came to do an estimate in addition to making detailed measurements of our utility room to make sure anything they installed would fit. They gave me three proposals ranging from low-end, mid-range, and high end options and explained the equipment in each of them in detail, including documenting all the model numbers, efficiency ratings, and specs. What they recommended matched up with my research I did prior to receiving estimates. They were very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional so I gave them the job. The crew arrived on time, worked hard the whole day, were respectful of my house, and did not require supervision (although, they told me I was more than welcome to ask questions and watch anything they were doing). They cleaned up, explained the warranty and rebate options with all the paperwork already filled out so that all I had to do was sign--they even mailed both the warranty and rebate off for me. The whole process went great. While their prices were fair they were not the cheapest, but I have no doubt they did a great job, didn't cut corners, and will stand by their work if I experience any problems. They are a reasonably sized HVAC business and not a one-man-band shop like many places in the area, so I know they will likely still be around through the life of the warranty and are well staffed to respond to emergencies, including a 24/7 emergency service number. Overall, we're very happy with the new system and it's a huge improvement over what it replaced--both the AC and furnace are much quieter than the old units, more energy efficient, and perform better. It's been a month since the install and everything has been working fine without problems."

"I couldn't be happier with the service I received from McCrea Heating and Air Conditioning Services of Maryland. Upon returning from vacation on a 100 degree July day, I found my old HVAC system basically dead (90 degrees in my kitchen!) ... Shane immediately came out to provide an estimate, we signed a contract on the spot, and he kindly provided some freon to hold me over until the new system could be installed. Brian and Nick showed up exactly on time to install the unit, used drop cloths to protect my flooring, and were exceedingly polite and professional throughout. "One of my AC compressors was not starting correctly every time. If it did start, it would run fine, but on hot days, when it would cycle frequently, (i.e. cool to target temp, stop, temp would heat up, thermostat would send signal to restart, and eventually the compressor would not restart). I don't remember the exact explanation, but I think there's a small fan linked to the capacitor. The fan provides some cooling to the capacitor which is stressed at startup time. Eventually the capacitor burned out because it wasn't getting its appropriate fan/cooling. First, this is a pretty specific problem. I'm fairly technical myself, and my father can fix anything. We had isolated the issue to the capacitor, but could figure out why it had failed. This is a large home and the large capacitor, so it really was a job for a professional -- capacitors offer plenty of opportunities to electrocute yourself pretty severely if your a "do-it-yourselfer." The No-Frost tech diagnosed the problem within a few minutes and explained it in detail. I called my old man to see what he thought, and confirmed that would definitely explain the problem. Second, the appropriate replacement part was an all-in-one capacitor/fan combo part specifically made by the vendor. Because my unit was a larger-than-typical unit AND these guys rushed out pretty much same day (or next morning -- I think it was a Friday going into a 95 degree weekend). The tech didn't have that exact part on his truck. He gave me two options, he had the same size capacitor and fan unit separately, so he could merge those together and get the unit functioning right then and there, or he could order the part and come back some time the following week -- he called the warehouse and they didn't have it in stock (my compressor is large and 10-years old). Given the weather, and everything else, I had him build the setup I needed, took him about 20 minutes to link the fan and capacitor together and the AC unit was humming along again shortly thereafter. I loved that he took the time to explain the problem in detail. He could tell i was "tinkerer," yet he was very politely patient with my ignorance (I had no idea the capacitor required its own cooling). I loved that he gave me the choice on waiting for the vendor's "officially sanctioned" part or just getting the unit working, and that he took the time to explain why this wasn't a risky workaround. I gave him a nice tip and emailed my neighborhood HOA email group the contact details as a reliable, trustworthy and well-priced service provider who will always go the extra mile for the customer. These guys fixed my furnace a year earlier when I nearly burned my house down by not paying attention to my intake... Would and have definitely recommend these folks for any HVAC needs."

"Everything went great. My AC died and it was close to 20 years old so I wanted the whole unit replaced. I have 4 young kids so no AC in the summer was not a pleasant option. The owner came out on site the day we called and was able to have the new unit installed the next day. I have dealt with many HVAC companies in the past as an Insurance Adjuster.
