"Hometown Tree Experts provided a first class service from start to finish. They removed several large trees on our properties for a great price and did an excellent job. All tree limbs, trunks, branches (etc) were dropped with precision (very talented crew). We would hire them again and we plan to provide referrals to our neighbors."

"We had a very good experience with the New Creation Tree Service. Edwin Contreras owner of the Service and his crew did a good job in cutting the dead tree plus the pruning of another tree in our yard. In addition, Mr. Contreras was professional, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and help with other issues regarding yard work. We greatly appreciate his practical and honest recommendations about pruning more trees in our yard. His reasonable charge, good tree service, knowledge willingness to help and over-all great customer service are ingredients for us to request for help in the future. Thank you very much. G. Sundaresan"

"We couldn't be happier with the work they did. We needed a large area to be cleared, with upwards of ten trees to be removed, stumps to be ground, debris to be removed, and then to have it reseeded and covered with straw. It was done in a day and a half, so fast that even some neighbors complimented how quickly it was done. They did a fantastic job; I would recommend them to anyone"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

Bradford pear trees bloom in early spring with small white flowers. They typically flower for at least two weeks. In bloom, these trees often emit a foul-smelling odor that’s often compared to rotting fish. Bradford pear trees will sometimes bloom in the fall due to drought or other stress-inducing conditions.

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

The typical lifespan of a Bradford pear is relatively short, only 15 to 25 years. However, these trees have issues long before their life is over. Due to their soft wood and fast-growing branches, Bradford pear trees often split around 15 years, making them a risk for falling branches and more prone to disease.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.
