We called Debbie and Ron because we had a heater that made an unusual noise and kept cycling on and off every few minutes. We also wanted to upgrade the thermostat to a nest but was running into issues installing it ourselves. We are fairly handy but couldn’t figure out the problem. Debbie tried to help us troubleshoot over the phone but ended up coming out the next day. They were quick to diagnose the heater issue and made some adjustments. They basically serviced the furnace which hadn’t been for a few years but in the process they found some oil leaking from the motor. Since it was still under warranty, they said they could get a replacement part locally and install it. I thought we were going to have to schedule another day but they did it that same day! They also helped us troubleshoot the nest-even called Google to help us. Their prices are reasonable and they are upfront with the work. We really love them and have recommended them several times to family and friends.

Great! MD Heating & Cooling came out on short notice and identified the problem with my compressor (bad capacitor) and quickly installed a new one.

Purchased the AC unit from MH&C two years prior. Very happy with the price and installation. The evening of the start of 4th Jul weekend, notice AC not working. Called MH&C at 11pm and left a message. At 700am, received return call and was told they would squeezed me in that day. Came by the house that afternoon and 45 minutes later, I have cold air. I couldnt have asked for better service, especially on a holiday weekend. 100% recommend.

Fantastic service and is now my go-to for any HVAC issues. AC wasn’t blowing cold in June during covid. Hopped on Internet to look for good reviewed HVAC repair and the first couple of good reviewed places I called either weren’t taking new clients or who’s first available appointments were weeks away. Called MD H&C and they were able to fit me in the following day. They gave me the price of each step BEFORE performing the step and making sure I consent (i.e. our diagnosis fee is X amount, ok your issue is this...the cost to fix it plus the diagnosis will cost Y, etc). There also were no hidden charges. The number I was provided was what I paid and I thought a very fair/good number. They also educated me each step of the way and showed me what caused the issue and how they would fix it. I have dial zone HVAC with both the same condescending unit brands for each level. They even checked the 2nd one out free of charge and fixed some things to prevent the same issue from happening in that one in the future (it was on its way to the same issue). Cannot recommend Maryland Heating and Cooling enough. Will use them for all my future needs!

Maryland Heating and Cooling is top-notch! Great prices; on-time; flexible scheduling; neat and clean, and very efficient. The entire process took 5 hours, and our AC bill is next to nothing. We'll never hesitate again to use AC on a sticky day. I highly recommend them.

I love these guys! They seem to be a charming husband and wife team. Twice now they’ve helped us out in a big pickle. One time we woke up to no AC in the middle of August on the day we were hosting a huge (100+ people) party. They came out and fixed it before our first guests arrived. The second time, we had been out of town when our hvac waste line overflowed and created a bit of flood. They fixed it and helped clean up. I recommend them to everyone!

Debbie and Ron were great to work with. They returned my call within minutes, even though I called on Sunday before Labor Day. They arrived early the next business day and diagnosed the problem quickly. Even though the replacement part my system needed wasn't readily available, they were able to locate one and get it delivered the next day. Then the repair was done just as they said it would be, with no complications, at the price as originally quoted. It became obvious to me that they both are very experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. And friendly as well. They even helped me repair an unrelated problem at no additional charge. Excellent service, fast response, and good price. Debbie quickly provided a quote, and upon acceptance, scheduled the work, which was completed within a week. Debbie, Ron, and Dave did the tear-out and new installation in 7 hours. Their work was of high quality, as were the parts they installed (Carrier and ADP). They took away the old equipment, left the work areas clean, and were careful to avoid damaging walls and floors.

Our heater died on Christmas day, and they were able to come out and repair the next morning. We didn’t call on Christmas, but if we had, they said they would have come. We would definitely use them again.

Came home at 6 in the evening to find the A/C not working. Called these guys as recommended by a friend. They answered, promised to be there at 7:30 the next morning. They showed up on time, got it up and running and seemed genuinely happy for me that I didn’t need a major replacement. When I do, they will be the first people I call.

For any HVAC needs I highly recommend Maryland Heating & Cooling!! AC went out on Saturday, they were able to come first thing Sunday morning and replaced two worn out parts in 10 minutes and AC back up pumping ice cold air!

I am an engineer and I know everything about air conditioning. I could do the installation myself, but I do not have a permit to work with some freons, and I do not have all the required tools, so I had to call a HVAC company to replace an old 2.5 ton heat pump system (that used R-22) with a new 2.5 ton heat pump system (that uses R-410A). The freon compressor in the old system had a short circuit to the ground, but because of the R-22 phaseout I had to replace the entire system rather than just the dead compressor. I contacted 13 companies that work in my area. 9 of them told me that they were very busy and could not take new orders. 4 companies sent salesmen who gave me price estimates. Three of the four price estimates included items that were not necessary, which is what pushed the prices up. When two people (Debbie Thomas and Ron Thomas) from Maryland Heating and Cooling showed up, they started to discuss with each other (in my presence) which items I do not need to replace; this would save me money. In the end they decided that none of the existing duct work needs to be modified and that the old copper freon lines are in good shape and can be re-used, all the wiring and fuses need not be replaced, and the old thermostat is perfectly fine. In the end they came up with the lowest price; significantly lower than the three other offers. Furthermore, they were able to do the installation on the second day after I signed the contract and paid the deposit. I was watching them while they did the work, and I am confident that they did everything right, because I understand exactly what they were doing and why. In other words, they did not cut any corners. And they were completely honest with their price estimate. I was very impressed. I can recommend this company.
