They’ve done several projects for us now, including replacing a bannister on our stairs (which included a new hand rail design), replacing a step on our indoor stairs as well as our gazebo outside, and designing and building a set of built-in shelves and cabinets. Carlos’s work is extremely high quality. He has excellent attention to detail and is very professional and timely. We happily and gladly recommend him for any carpentry services."

"Bill (the proprietor) responded promptly to my request for a quote for the work I needed done. He came out, reviewed the tasks, and provided a written quote. However, his schedule was full and he said it would be a month or so before he could start. Once he started, he and Joe (his helper) worked as quickly as possible as weather and daylight permitted, since it was winter and all the work was outside.

Bill and Joe did excellent work, and they were very conscientious about doing the best job they could. I am very impressed with the quality of their work and with their determination to get it done right. Some of the tasks were very challenging, especially the repairs of rotted wood in several door and window frames, but Bill stuck to it and completed everything except one window (which was rotted so badly that it will have to be replaced). They always went out of their way to do the job well, but were very reasonable when it came to charging for their work. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up after they finished each day and of removing and disposing of trash.

My only quibble is that Bill is apparently so good at what he does, and his reputation is so strong, that he books up well in advance and it is hard for him to respond promptly to short-fuse projects. Luckily my needs were not urgent and I was able to wait until he could schedule me in.

Overall, an outstanding contractor, exceptionally professional, and a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be calling on him again for future projects around the house."

"Deckmaster provided a free estimate for carpentry repair work on my wooden deck and fence, and also for a powerwash and reseal of the deck, deck stairs, and a fence. I contracted them to do the carpentry only (the powerwash/sealing was more than double the cost I normally pay). Scheduling was done within a week or so, and I was very pleased with the work Gustavo and his assistant did. The repair was done carefully and competently, and showed good attention to detail. I would definitely call Deckmaster again if I needed any repair work done."

Needed carpenter to build a footbridge using repurposed wood, install insect screen under raised screen-in porch, install oak handrails, fix the threshold to our front door, and add shoe molding in basement. JW (owner) was pleasant, professional, and thorough when he came out to give an estimate. He listened to what we wanted done and suggested ways to make it work. Scheduling was a breeze. A team of two came out to complete our projects. Of course temperatures were in the 90s, but they worked nonstop. Pedro (crew chief) built our footbridge based only on description. Other projects were completed within the timeframe with Kevin working on the screen and railings with assistance from Pedro. The crew was timely, professional, courteous. There was only a minor issue with the oak hand rails (needed additional sanding) -- which was remedied quickly after review of the project manager, Bob. JW was a tad more expensive that other bids, but in the end, well worth the price. Glad we went with them."

"This is the 4th time I've hired Mr. Handyman, and the biggest job yet. I needed a wooden 8 x 10 shed assembled from a kit and anchored to a concrete slab. Bobby and Sean knew what they were doing. They did a fantastic job of wrestling the large, heavy pieces into place, deciphering the less-than-clear instructions provided by the manufacturer, and finishing most of the job in one day. They cleaned up after they were done, and were very helpful and professional throughout. Obviously, I am repeat customer, but I will continue to hire this service for my handyman needs."
