"JL Smith is our go to contractor. He has brought our 50 year old house into the 21st century. Over a few years he has remodeled our: basement, kitchen, master bath, hall bath and foyer. Additionally, he painted the rooms on our main floor, replaced all the interior doors and hardware and upgraded our electrical system. We didn’t want just a cosmetic redo. We wanted our house to be ready to carry us through retirement with minimal issues. So our renovations were from the studs out. This included plumbing, electrical, wall insulation and termite repair. We love working with Mr. Smith. He is unflappable. His integrity, calm demeanor, expert workmanship and customer focus is what sets him apart from other competitors. If we have another project or are asked to refer a contractor to family or friends, we go to Joe Smith. I cannot recommend JL Smith more highly."

"Mr. Handyman helped me in all aspects of this large project, from measuring and ordering materials at the start to clean-up at the end. Installation of both patio doors and of garage doors went beautifully, as did replacement of front banisters and repair of old termite damage. The crews were always prompt and notified me by email that they were on their way. The were clean and courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. Mr. Handyman's Dennis Jennings, with his attention to detail, was key to this project being a great success."

"On the recommendation of a friend, I contracted North Star Companies for a bathroom and the kitchen/dining area remodel on a 120 year old home. The work included removing an interior wall, gutting the rooms, updating ancient plumbing and electrical fixtures and reinforcing the home with concrete footers. Chris was always available for questions and reviewing work. His crew was very professional, possessed a strong work ethic and left work areas clean every day. When a subcontractor had to make some minor adjustments, Chris kept me updated until the new materials arrived. The result is a gorgeous, transformed home. "Diaz and his crew recently completed a job for our home. It started off with a basement renovation. They installed several sections of missing drywall and reinstalled a set of windows (that were installed incorrectly by a previous contractor). Then they painted our basement, installed new recessed ceiling lighting, placed new moldings and installed flooring with vinyl plank After the basement was completed they completely redid our kitchen and main living area They installed new cabinets and countertops. They redid all of our upstairs lighting. They removed old nonfunctional heaters and redid the floor moldings. They installed a new tile backsplash for our kitchen. Finally they painted and installed new flooring. I can’t say enough great things about this contractor. I found that he and his work crew are extremely proficient and did excellent work. They had incredible attention to detail. The painting, flooring, lighting, and every single thing was absolutely completed to perfection. The team cleaned up thoroughly every single day, and took great pains to minimize the impact of their work on the rest of the house (by placing tarps, drapes, and plastic doorway partitions). I was very happy that a single contractor was able to do all these various different things and still do them so well. Diaz did have specific companies that he worked with to make the cabinets and countertop but we were very happy with the options that he provided. He even helped us set up a visit in person to look at countertops before we made a final decision. Diaz was honest and upfront, and was extremely reliable. He made multiple suggestions throughout the process to improve the renovation and the function of our home, and I really trusted his input. Diaz is highly skilled as a designer as well as a contractor. Diaz stuck to his estimate. As expected with a project like this, extra things did come up along the way that lead to additional cost. But Diaz was upfront with those additional costs, and they all seemed extremely reasonable. If there was any negative it was that Diaz and his crew were always extremely busy. As a result, communication sometimes took a while, and the renovations took a little time (since they were clearly juggling multiple projects at once). However, I do feel that overall Diaz his crew did the job in a timely manner Most importantly, we were extremely happy with the end result. We feel like we’re living in a new house and cannot recommend Diaz highly enough. If you’re looking for a crew that has great attention to detail, a high level of versatility across various contract jobs, and that is extremely trustworthy and reliable, then Diaz and your crew is the right choice. We will definitely use them again the next time something needs to be done at our home."
