+ 2 moreProject went well. Completed on time and within budget. Offered several solutions before we agreed to most cost effective approach. I have used Tab since 2003 when he did a makeover including expanding the kitchen by adding 250 square feet and a new porch. Used other contractors on smaller projects, but always disappointed, so I keep going back to him. He is not necessarily the cheapest contractor, but he will work with you and suggest cost saving measures when they become evident to him. Trust him completely with the house keys. Shows up when he says he will show up or provides a phone call when delays occur. Wipes his feet whenever coming in the house. Tries to minimize dust spreading to rest of house. Willing to let customer do the deconstruction effort and reduce costs.
Description of Work: Installed a gutter drain in cement floor of garage. Drain needed to avoid continual flooding from inadequately drained street.

Description of Work: I cannot say enough good things about R. Talbott Consruction. Tab Miller, the owner, was a true pleasure to work with as well as was his wife and all the crews that came to do their specific jobs. We did our own electric (my husband is an electrician), painting and carpet; Tab took care of everything else. We added approximately 1000 square onto the front of our current home. The addition consisted of a Full Bath (with a tiled floor, tiled shower and linen closet), Living Room with a bay window, Hallway and two (2) Bedrooms, a small covered front porch and sidewalk. We had a general idea as to what we wanted and provided a drawing to Tab. He took our drawing and applied some of his own ideas (which we happily approved) and the building began. Along the was we decided to have him frame in an open carport for a rolling door and to apply siding to the enclosed portion of the carport and to an enclosed side porch. Things could not have gone better! Everyone involved with R. Talbott Construction was Professional, Courteous, Personable, Good Natured, Hardworking ........ and on and on. It was obvious from the start that everyone knew their job and everyone worked well together to keep things moving. The project was very impressive to watch and I must admit that it was even better than what I had dreamed of. I was totally in awe of their expertise and would not hesitate to hire R. Talbott Construction to do more work for us in the future. My husband and I were so impressed with the work that we started referring him to others before our job was even finished.

+ 0 moreThis is the second job we have hired RTC and Tab Miller to do for us and they again gave us an exceptional finished product. Our back patio looks very high end and we get compliments on it all the time. Very pleased with the work performed. Had one issue with a stone and RTC came out immediately and reset the stone. I would highly reccomend Tab and RTC construction.
Description of Work: Full install of large Blue Flagstone pavers (2X4) with river rock patio. 15X30ft.

Description of Work: Tab Miller and his company did an Amazing job on the extension we added to our house! We got several estimates and Tab was very reasonable as well as made us the most comfortable with the process. He and his crew were professional and respectful. They even worked around my Childcare kids! Any changes from the original plan were discussed with us first and Tab was very upfront about everything. The extension is perfect and is everything we hoped it would be. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them again for future projects!

+ -1 moreR. Talbott answers all my phone calls. Everything he has told me he is going to do for me, he has done in the time frame he said he was going to do it in. He is very personable, very honest and is a hard worker. He has been out here at my home several times with revised additional proposals because we have been asking him to put different things in there, which he has readily done. He emails me anytime he has something additional. His price is very reasonable compared to some of the other people I got an estimate from. He came about $40,000 to $50,000 lesser than the others did. I even got a five percent discount for being an Angie’s List member. I have an allowance as far as certain things in the house goes, like the vanity, showers and so on, so between him and his wife, who works with him in the office, they are trying to find me something in that price range. He is a great guy, married man with two little daughters. I have some bushes in my yard that need to come out and he told me not to worry about those, that he would dig them up and even replant it if I wanted. I wanted two trees removed from my front yard, I did have them removed, and he saved me a lot of money by telling me that he will take care of getting rid of the stumps. There is one stump that is not in his way but he is still going to take it out for me. He is very accommodating. We may be doing some additional work a few years down the road and we plan to use him again. I would refer him to anybody.
Description of Work: I am working with R. Talbott Construction Inc. We are trying to get the permits now and it should be done by tomorrow. They are going to build a new addition to my home, which is going to be bigger than my house.

+ 1 moreWe purchased a home in early 2009 in a nice neighborhood near family and friends, good schools for our kids but the home was in total need of repair. The entire home was original from 1956 and had not seen any maintenance for close to 20 years. There were animals living in many parts of the house, the roof had collapsed a bit in the kitchen and insects had overrun the place. We knew this was going to have to be a total gut/teardown and rebuild. We put the bid out to 3 contractors. One contractor never returned an estimate to us and the other two were very close. We chose Tab and RTC Construction because of Tab. He seemed very knowledgeable of the process, was professional and on time, answered all of our calls and questions and was eager to start our project. Tab Started right away, about July, there were no times where the house was sitting without workers, everything went up so fast and the work was solid, there was nothing I could tell that wasn't done with pride and professionalism. Jokingly we said it would be great if we would be in our new home for Christmas figuring there is no way he could tear down a house and rebuild it in 6 months? We moved in on December 20th, I have nothing but good things to say about Tab and his company. Top Notch.

+ 0 moreThey came early as they said they would. He brought a lot of men and was able to work around my 2 and 4 year old Grandsons and my Chocolate lab. They moved all my patio furniture so it wouldn't get damaged and then did a great job of cleaning up when they were done. They laid tarps down in the lawn so there weren't any stray dirty nails for the kids to find.
Description of Work: We had a new roof installed, a skylight removed and a new one installed, new gutters and foam insulation placed over our addition. Our roof is angled and a split level. It's not a huge house but by no means small. He had it all done in one day. They came early in the morning and stayed until the job was done. + 2 moreTab Miller and his team did an outstanding job. It has been one year now since they performed the work for us, and we continue to love the changes they made to our house. Tab is extremely professional, very responsive, very punctual, personable, and easy to work with. He helped us clarify our ideas at the beginning of the project and had a good vision for what the possibilities would be for building a master suite in our existing space; he offered us three different design layout options for the master suite. Tab completed the project on-time and did a great job of checking in and keeping us updated on the project as it progressed, and he did a great job coordinating all the different tradesmen and their schedules. His tradesmen are very professional and polite; I never worried about a thing in the house while they were working on it. Tab also always made sure that everything was nicely swept up at the end of the day and was meticulous about hanging plastic to prevent dust in the house--a detail which made living in the house during renovation so much easier. He is very trustworthy and honest--we got exactly what we expected from the project. To be perfectly honest, the entire project went much more smoothly than I expected. We could not be happier with the work Tab Miller did for us, and we highly recommend him.
Description of Work: The project included 1) creating a full master suite by transforming an existing spare bedroom into a master bathroom (with custom shelving) and walk-in closet that connect to our master bedroom; 2) opening up the downstairs floor plan by removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room, and installing additional cabinets and a custom maple breakfast bar in its place; 3) installing granite countertops in the kitchen; 4) installing French doors from the dining room to the outside patio; and 5) building a wooden landing and steps from the French doors to the outside patio.
