"Can't say enough great things about D&D Water. We emailed them on a Monday night around 9PM and they got back to us first thing Tuesday and were at the house to help by 0900 that morning. Donnie and son were SUPEr responsive, friendly and timely in helping us to diagnose the water issue with our well water. He was not trying to sell me anything, just trying to fix what was wrong. I did eventually have him replace the very old water tank with a new one, and the cost was super reasonable. It was way more than i was expecting. I would recommend DD&D to anyone that has a need for a water expert that values customer service! Thanks Donnie, you have a longtime customre now!!"

"Jesse and his crew came through with the best price, not to mention courteous, professional service and quality work. Our water main line was leaking and was getting worse. We could see water collecting on the driveway, water meter was spinning, and our water bill was going up by the hour. I asked if he could come sooner than our scheduled appointment which was 3 days away. He cleared his schedule and showed up the next day on a Saturday. They are the best at what they do. So nice to have someone who actually cares and not trying to sell you a whole new water main system from $8,500 - $15,000. His service was a fraction of that... thank goodness! This kind of service does not exist anymore. You will not be disappointed! Keep up the great work Jesse and thanks for everything!"

"We have a finished basement and a crawl space in the storage area of our basement.  We have found after large rain storms recently water has been increasing in our crawl space. After one storm we found over 6 inches of water above the gravel in the crawl space and purchased a temporary pump to pump out the water, discarded the plastic vapor barrier with concern of mold growing on it and began to see seepage through the foundation wall to the basement.
In order to find a solution we scheduled four appointments with Angie's list highly regarded basement waterproofing contractors.  We were surprised to find that each contractor provided different solutions ranging in cost from $13,814 to $1,950.  We were impressed with Mr. Norfolk's honesty and straight forward approach.  He noted that he could do some of the solutions provided by other contractors with piping systems to a sump pump but suggested to start with a more cost effective solution of just adding a sump pump to the crawl area and replacing the current basement sump pump that was 27 years old.  If additional solutions were needed in the future he could preform them but why spend the extra money at this time if not necessary. The work was performed on February 1st and took two workman 3.5 hours to complete.  The workman explained how the system worked and asked that we please follow up if we had any questions.  The only area I could see improvement was clean up as after they cleaned up I had to again sweep the work area and vacum the carpets covered by their drop cloths. There was also debris and concrete mix left on the driveway.

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Hard water stains can be a headache because they will reoccur as long as hard water flows through. Thankfully, hard water stains are not permanent. With the right tools and an appropriate cleaning routine, you can prevent hard water stains from ever building up. However, you might feel like you are stuck in a constant cleaning cycle. In that case, you may consider hiring a contractor to perform routine cleaning.

The chemicals in a water softener can wear down the anode rod in the heater and shorten its life span. However, for most people, the benefits of the softener outweigh this potential drawback.

Have a plumber inspect the anode rod annually for damage, as replacing the anode rod is far less expensive than replacing the entire water heater.

Hard water doesn’t hurt, but it might feel more abrasive, especially if you have sensitive skin. It’s also about how your skin feels after bathing. You might feel as though you have a sticky film over your body because you do—it’s all that soapy residue left behind because the hard water can’t rinse it off completely.

A lower-end water softener would cost around $900, not including installation. Each home has different requirements, water hardness, and number of inhabitants, so there’s a huge range in pricing—$600 to over $6,000. The average water softener repair bill is around $500, meaning it’s a much better option to repair any issues and only replace your softener if absolutely necessary.

Generally, it is safe to bathe in yellow water, as the color is often caused by iron, tannins, or rust, which won't harm your skin. Soap will still clean you effectively, though the water might leave stains. However, if the water has an unusual smell or you suspect contamination, avoid bathing and contact a plumber for an inspection. A professional can also help if you find bathing in yellow water problematic and want to determine how to get your water clear again.
