"I was impressed with Clyde when he responded immediately to my initial inquiry. He led by stating in that call that he would help us get our water back, which was a nice reassurance and he arrived at our home shortly after. After some diagnosing, he spent time very patiently explaining how he arrived at his conclusions and proceeded to find us a tank and install it, all of this in one day. He also helped with a few other small details while there. Thank you, Clyde for taking away the sting of losing our water and for standing by your word on the pricing. We would highly recommend again."

"Looking at using this company to correct your water in your home? 2 words from a wise old woman...DO IT! My husband and I were very concerned about our water here in Stafford County, 22554 that we decided to contact the top company we found in our google search results for water testing and purification. The representative that showed up was Jonathan Booth. As Jonathan explained in very fine detail our water test results, he did a through examination of the water with a portable lab he brought into our home the day we scheduled. I was very concerned with having a stranger into the home but within the first 15 minutes, my husband and I were having a phenomenal time with him. Looking back on why we didn't have this conditioning system done within the first year of owning our home is the only regret we have, understanding the hidden cost of hard water made us realize that owning this system pays for itself over and over again. Not only is the equipment outstanding, the warranty and service after its installed is top notch. The ph of our skin and hair has been completely corrected and balanced the way it should be. I do not use lotion or hair conditioner anymore since the heavy minerals and chemicals have been removed mechanically via the system. They were the root cause of the negative effects on our bodies. Its been about 3 months since the installation, 3 major changes right off the bat are of the following; 1.) Cleaning has never been easier with just using the water and a disinfectant. (Love not using chemicals) 2.) Our drinking water tastes great and no more buying bottled!!!!! The Ph is sitting at an 8.4 (High Alkaline) 3.) 1 oz. of laundry soap per load and the clothes/ linens have never felt better! Thank You Virginia Environmental Resources and Jonathan, you are a fantastic person/ representative of a outstanding American company. You have restored our faith in the way folks do business now a days. We highly recommend Virginia Environmental Resources to anyone with the heart to change the #1 thing families use daily. Cant put a price on your Health and the largest investment most people make is their homes!"

"I bought an existing home which this product was installed. I could not stand the taste or smell of the water. So I called the company and had them change out the filtering system (charcoal I believe). This cost me $450.00. After giving it some time to work(2 months). There was no change to taste or smell of the water. I turned the system off and the water is fine. So I set an appointment to which they no showed. No call or anything for communication. Its probably because I told them I want a reimbursement of 80%. So I waited 30 miniutes based on the early arrival time to confirm our appointment by text. No response. This is the way we communicated prior and by phone. Which was for 9am. I finally texted again at 5:30 pm and got a response. The manager told me his technician had arrived and nobody was home. Surprisingly, no security cameras pick the technician up on my patio or driveway or road. Not to mention no phone call either. When i texted again at 5:30pm, the manager James was not friendly and offered no resolution. Spend your money somewhere else."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.

No, hard water isn’t dangerous. The added calcium in hard water can contribute to good bone health. However, it can also cause dry skin and hair. If you have dry skin or hair, consider using a water-softening system to help minimize the minerals in your water. Plus, these systems can also add some sodium to your diet.

Hard water isn’t necessarily bad for you. In some ways, it’s good for you. If you’re deficient in magnesium or calcium, hard water can give you a mineral boost that you wouldn’t get with soft water. However, this is where the benefits of hard water pretty much stop. Hard water can cause many minor inconveniences and lead to costly, premature replacements of your water-using appliances.

It does cost money to have a water softener, both for installation and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, the taste of your water will be altered, especially if sodium is the ingredient you use to run the water softening system. Look up exactly what your chosen water softener will remove and what will remain because not all systems provide the same results.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.
