I had no prior connection to the company, but after reading numerous positive online reviews highlighting Mr. Ellis’s hands-on approach, 20+ years of experience, and pride in craftsmanship, I decided to give him a call—and I’m incredibly glad I did. The project involved replacing a critical 6x6 support post that had rotted at the base and was causing the deck to lean. As you can imagine, this situation had me seriously concerned about both safety and potential long-term damage. Mr. Ellis understood the urgency and approached the job with confidence, professionalism, and care. From start to finish, Mr. Ellis and his assistant were prompt, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to cut out the old concrete, inspect and secure the footers, and replace the post properly—restoring both the structural integrity and my peace of mind. The quality of his work and attention to detail was obvious. It’s clear he takes great pride in what he does, and he’s not satisfied until the job is done right. It’s rare these days to find a contractor who is as skilled, honest, and personally involved as Mr. Ellis. "I am having a truly unpleasant experience with 7th State Builders. I paid 14,450.00$ deposit in good faith. They were contracted to rebuild my deck, place a roof structure and screen on the deck. I trusted that they would complete the work. Instead, they took my money and one year later had not even started on the project. Not only did they fail to perform the agreed-upon services for the deck, but I was forced to hire an attorney to try and recover my deposit. Which I haven?t yet (over one year). Thus, creating unnecessary expenses to an already frustrating situation. I would strongly advise against using this company. "I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent retaining wall replacement project completed by John Krause Construction (JKC) at my property. After reading positive reviews and receiving an estimate that, although over my budget, seemed reasonable for the work involved, I made the decision to hire JKC. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a significant mistake, and I am left extremely disappointed with both the quality of work and the overall experience. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. Unprofessional Behavior: The crew exhibited unacceptable behavior while working on my property. Not only did I witness them disposing of bodily fluids on-site, but they were also disrespectful and dismissive. when I raised concerns no response was received. I now smell urine when entering and exiting my garage. 2. Unresponsive Ownership: I have attempted to reach out to the owner multiple times to address these concerns and resolve the issues, but my messages have been met with silence. This lack of communication is incredibly frustrating and has only added to my disappointment. The owner refused to speak on the phone since the owner was made aware of the call being recorded. 3. Property Damage: During the construction process, my property was left damaged in multiple areas. This included e.g., landscaping destruction, equipment damage. Personal crew members vehicles being driven through my yard leaving deep tire marks damage. 4. Subpar Quality of Work: Despite the high cost of the project, the final result does not meet the standards outlined in the estimate or contract. No proper grading was completed. Every time it rains pools of water sits in front and behind the wall. The response received was. “we have passed all inspections.  There will be some water pooling while it is settling still. Plus the fact of the hard rain today, it will happen.” The wall has been completed for 2 months. Given the extensive problems, stress and anxiety I have faced. I do not recommend John Krause Construction."

"Jay’s Handyman was very professional, clean, fast and the price was very reasonable. He called the same day and made an appointment for an estimate the same day I opened this project on Angi. He came to power wash my cement apron in front of my garage, front steps, sidewalk and platform the very next business day. He did such a great job I had him do my entire house, side and back siding, bricked front, garage doors, cinder blocks, back porch and driveway. If I could give him a rating of 1000 I would. No doubt I would recommend him to my entire neighborhood. That’s just what I am going to do. I got several of his business cards to give my neighbors, friends and family. Please hire him you want be disappointed."
