"I am having a truly unpleasant experience with 7th State Builders. I paid 14,450.00$ deposit in good faith. They were contracted to rebuild my deck, place a roof structure and screen on the deck. I trusted that they would complete the work. Instead, they took my money and one year later had not even started on the project. Not only did they fail to perform the agreed-upon services for the deck, but I was forced to hire an attorney to try and recover my deposit. Which I haven?t yet (over one year). Thus, creating unnecessary expenses to an already frustrating situation. I would strongly advise against using this company. While building your deck, you might come across something called the four-inch sphere rule. Essentially, this railing requirement for a deck states that a four-inch ball should not be able to fit through any gap in the deck railings. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.

Will pressure-treated wood rot? This wood could eventually suffer from rot, although it takes longer compared to untreated wood. Even though the chemicals applied to pressure-treated wood protect it, they eventually dissipate and leave the wood vulnerable. You can delay the appearance of rot in the treated wood by reducing its direct exposure to moisture and by painting it. Using fewer screws or nails in the wood—and thereby creating fewer holes in it—also delays the chances of rot forming.

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.
