"As a testament to how happy we were with our first renovation provided by the Curtice Group in 2021, which provided completely new kitchen/dining/mudroom/bath, we hired Scott and his team again in 2024-25 for another major renovation. This job was composed of 3 main parts: a gut remodel of our main bathroom, renovation of a large attic space (about 700 sq ft), and whole-home conversion from steam radiators (gas) to heat pumps including removal of all radiators and a chimney. The bathroom now is attractive and more functional, the attic adds a large amount of useful space as an office/kid room/guest area, and central air makes a more comfortable climate. I’m a big fan of the design/build concept, because you really don’t want to separate those two elements into different contractors, and if you find a talented company, they can handle all aspects of the job fluidly. "Contacted them in march, they were quick to get back to me to see the job and make a proposal. I wanted steel rather than the more common laminated wood beam, they were happy to accomodate this. I had to clear all my stuff out of the basement so that they could work, this delayed my acceptance of the contract until I finished . When they began it took about a 2 weeks to complete. They first put up 2 tempoary support walls, removed the basement staircase and put it off to one side, then poured the footings for the post.When the concrete was ready it took 1 day to lift in the beam and put the post under it. A great improvement over what was there when i bought the house.
