"Wow. Good contractors are hard to find, but when you do and they do an amazing job, it's worth posting and this is one of those companies, I would hire again and recommend. Got a quote on Friday morning and had the basement ceiling installed on Monday. Excellent job, professional and as I found out, drywall is very messy. After Speedy Drywall left my house, you would never have known they were there. They laid out plastic from their truck - down my long sidewalk and down the basement stairs, into the basement where the work was completed. Thank you Speedy Drywall"

"Amazingly talented! I couldn't be happier with the outstanding job. Very minimal sanding was needed and he left the area cleaner than what it was when he started. He tolerated me adding in additional places I had forgotten about without a problem. If I need drywall work again Jose with L&C Drywall would be my only call!"

"ALX Flores did a excellent job prepping my didning riom's cracked plaster walls in preparation for wallpapering. They gave me a fair estimate, arrived on time fully prepared to do the job, took great care orotecting my floors and furniture, worked quickly, were polite and helpful, and cleaned up after. I liked their work so much that I brought them back a few days later to install chair railing and picture railing. I will call on them again for future similar jobs."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

The easiest way to remove texture from walls is the soak-and-scrape method. You’ll need to spray a section of the wall with water and let the water soak in and soften the texture. Then, you need to scrape the texture off using a drywall taping knife. This method works best with unpainted walls since paint prevents water from saturating the textured joint compound.

Only use spackle on plaster walls when the imperfection is small. It’s best used for nail holes or small dings in the plaster. Spackle dries quickly, allowing you to continue the repair process shortly after using it. Plaster can be tricky to repair, though, so if you run into issues, call a pro so that you don’t risk further damage.
