"The drywall repair was great but they did some tile work and it’s cracking and just looks horrible. The estimator she was very nice and her husband did great drywall work. They told me they weren’t great at tile I should have just hired a tile pro for that part of the project."

"Got 2 plumbing company quotes for a leak in copper pipe. They charged $100 just for coming out and not even locating the source. They quoted thousands of dollars without any drywall and plaster repair. The best type of anchors to use on plaster walls are the ones that will bite into the surrounding area, such as molly bolts and toggle bolts. Masonry anchors with expanders on the sides also work for lighter pictures.

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.
