"Very well. Grant was on time for every date scheduled. He took the time to explain what was wrong and how he would recommend fixing it. He and Shane were meticulous in their work and did a great job cleaning up. A follow-up visit was necessary to put final seal coat on. This was done in a timely manner, as soon as weather would allow. I would recommend and would call them back for any future chimney work"

"We had Chavez Masonry complete a rebuilt of a collapsed chimney in the attic and restored the outside portion. They were responsive, courteous and prompt. Very impressed with their work and their cleanup. I saw this as a difficult project but they completed without a problem. They even held to the quote after it was discovered the the repair was going to more extensive than we originally thought. We would definitely use them again."

"The chimney to our furnace was loose.  Noticed after a leak.  Our roofer caulked it but explained it wasn't firmly attached.  Maximum came out and did a free inspection, then described the problem.  They were able to repair that afternoon.  They were a little after the window in which they said they'd be out, but the did call.

"You would never know that my chimney was struck by lightning. It took 6 hours for the work to be completed. Mr. Szczepaniak and his crew were punctual, neat and responsible. He cared about making the customer happy, which is so rare in today's world. He demonstrated what I call " old school" work ethics which was a pleasure to see. I highly recommend him.

"After having several other companies out to inspect the three fireplaces in our newly purchased 44 year old home, Our new neighbor, who is a realtor, suggested that we call Valor Chimney. We made an appointment for Valor Chimney to come out and give us an estimate. The appointment was several weeks out, but well worth it. David was professional and knowledgeable. He explained the work that needed to be done and provided an equally detailed proposal. A few weeks later, David arrived on-time and did the work without any surprises. Valor Chimney, like the other companies that came out were C.S.I.A certified, but Valor's price was better and David is the owner, so I think the quality and integrity is better because of this fact."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

No, you can’t install just any microwave over your range. You have to get a specific type of microwave known as an over-the-range unit. These include venting and lighting features that you’ll need above your stovetop.

Although countertop units are more affordable, they won’t work for this type of installation. To avoid hazardous conditions in your kitchen, buy the right type of microwave for your needs.
