"Can't say enough good things about this Environmental Abatement company. Got four bids with widely varying prices and level of professionalism. This company offered a very professional contract at a fair price - not the highest or lowest. Phone and online contact was always top notch. This was a big job because the building is 45 ft tall and had a top layer of aluminum siding that had to be removed in order to get to the asbestos siding that had been installed around 1935. The job was big, dirty, difficult due to weather and size of building. They did a perfect job, removing all debris, nails, cleanup every day for five days. A special shout out to the project manager, Jimmy. He was a good communicator, supervisor, hands on participant every step of the way. Do not hesitate to hire this organization if you need siding removal."

"I can’t say enough great things about John Garelli and the team at Buzz Home Pros! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. They recently completed both my roof and siding, and the transformation is incredible—my home looks brand new! John was responsive, honest, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything, gave me a fair and transparent estimate, and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. His crew was professional, respectful of my property, and incredibly efficient—everything was done on time and cleaned up beautifully. The quality of the work speaks for itself. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding. I’ve had several neighbors stop to compliment the new look, and I feel proud every time I pull into the driveway. If you’re looking for a company that delivers great work, fair pricing, and excellent customer service, I highly recommend Buzz Home Pros and John Garelli. They went above and"

"I had damage from wind and raccoons on the soffit, fascia, and roof of my house. Laz Call Construction did a great job repairing all 3. Some other contractors I contacted didn’t do small repair jobs. Laz Construction came out in less than a week after I contacted them."

Now Joe and his professional crew have replaced all our windows . There are never surprises or additions from when the job is quoted. Once again we are totally satisfied and delighted with their work!! It has been a stress free experience each and every time."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

Siding pros typically charge by the square foot when providing estimates for siding projects. They’ll take the material cost and add in an estimated labor fee, and some contractors will include an additional upcharge to account for profit, waste, and unexpected issues. Another important price factor your pro will consider is the quality of your home’s current siding, which they’ll need to remove, and your home’s sheathing. If pros have to make any additional repairs to your home’s exterior, the added labor will also influence your final siding cost.

OSB is a common material used in sheathing, so when OSB prices go up, so does the cost of sheathing. Depending on the economy and supply chain, increased costs can reduce demand, though some homeowners proceed with their projects despite the elevated expenses.

Vinyl siding is the cheapest option in terms of upfront costs. The average cost to install vinyl siding is around $12,173, with certain types like vinyl shake, clapboard, or dutch lap costing as little as $2 to $3 per square foot. While vinyl is very low-cost, it may not last as long as natural materials or metal, with a typical lifespan of 20 to 40 years. In contrast, metal siding is more expensive initially but can save you money in the long run due to its longer lifespan, which is often double that of vinyl. It's recommended to consult a siding professional to determine if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your specific home.

If you have stucco on the outside of your home, it’s technically considered cladding and not siding, but beyond that, it’s impossible to tell without a little digging. Without damaging the siding material, expose part of it to see if there’s an air gap between the siding and your exterior wall. If there is, you have cladding. If the siding is affixed directly to the exterior wall, you have a simple siding system.
