Preferred Roofing did a wonderful job for us. The owner, Fred Landmesser, provided a detailed contract outlining every aspect of the work. He uses quality Owens Corning architectural shingles and other materials are upgrades as well. There are no short cuts. The roofers replaced certain sections of wood that were improperly nailed by the prior company. Our roof is solid and aesthetically pleasing - a real improvement to the overall curb appeal of the house. Besides the quality work Fred’s company provides, expect some excellent customer service. Fred called us multiple times - to update on orders, schedules, arrival times, etc. He picks up the phone or shortly calls back. That’s comforting when you have engaged a company for a big ticket project. He made good on every single thing we discussed. The clean up was amazing with landscaping and lawn protected by tarps. The men use a “magnet on a pole” to pick up stray nails on the ground. I highly endorse Preferred Roofing for a worry free roofing project.

Initial responsiveness was great. After a storm in May 2017 the sales team was very helpful in getting the estimate and working with the insurance company. The job was completed in a reasonable time and appeared to be done well. Then it was time for the inspection and I have heard from Fred only once in a cryptic email he sent in the middle of the winter. I notified Fred the first time as soon as I received the city inspection letter indicating the roofing work his company performed failed inspection due to improper flashing around the chimney. After several calls and follow up emails I was told they would get to it after some larger jobs they wanted to get done before the snow arrived (that says a lot right there). Larry did reach out to me on March 18th via email and said he "would send one of the guys out to take care of the chimney". Well it is now June 2018, I think the snow is gone as we do not live in the Alaskan mountain tops. I have continued to leave voicemails and emails for Larry, and surprisingly there is no response. Well, I am now left to find a contractor to complete a small job since Larry seems to focus on only the large jobs and is to arrogant to fix his mistakes and stand behind his work. Larry and his company are the guys that give contractors a bad name, he appears to operate his business by the "taillight warranty" so be sure to consider this when you are seeking a roofer. Bye Larry, the next communication from me will be the bill I send you when another company fixes your poor work.

Had them do our roof back in 2015, great work and no problem. Selling our home and the home inspection identified a "potential" issue that needs to be looked at. One reason we chose PRE was because of their excellent 10 year Labor Roof warranty. I started calling them three weeks ago to discuss the reported problem. I call every other day, leaving detailed messages of our situation. I call in the morning, noon and night. I never hear back. I wonder if these guys are even in business. So I have to give them a less than stellar review, only because they do not seem to be honoring their Labor Roof Warranty. If they would just call back and talk to me, I would leave a more positive review. But for now I would just offer caution to others.

I had them install a new roof for me back in 04/2017. At that time, they were really doing a good job. I was promised that even if there will be snow, there would be no build up of water. But we had snow a few days ago, and there were water build up once the snow started to melt. I tried contacting them in their five offices but the automated response says they are closed for the season. The insurance said we must take care of these water as it will cause molds. There were water in the windows, the master's bedroom, and I have been placing buckets for the dripping water.

"We spoke to you a few times on the phone and explained that there is a foot of snow on the roof, It is too dangerous to be on a roof. Your windows have nothing to do with your roof. We did not replace your siding or windows. It has been a cold winter with a lot of snow. We will come out and take a look at the roof when it is safe to be on a roof. If we have to choose between a bad review or putting our guys lives at risk, we will choose a bad review. We had went out today and inspected the roof and found no issues. We had noticed 3 windows were leaking. The insurance adjuster had already paid MS [Member Name Removed] to repair the windows. We don't repair windows. The windows are in need of maintenance."

Well we're do I start...... I was quoted almost 18k to have a new roof put on my home. It was under what I had budgeted for so good this was going to be a complete tear off. So I added some gutters onto the job.... I was now sitting at over 22k still held my budget. The work was done in May of this year. I was not living full time in the home yet. So the work was going to be done while I was not at home. On the day the work began I received a phone call from the foreman Mike telling me we had a problem he explained to me something about my roof having glued down insulation board and it wasn't coming up and because of this the would have to put new plywood down over my entire roof in order for the shingles to sit flat. If I didn't do this the roofs waranty would not be valid nor would it look right, so what choice did I have a 10k hit I was told over 135 sheets of plywood were needed. I was not around to see any of this so took mike at his word. Well fast forward a few months I start doing my kitchen remodel find a leak in a wall coming from an area of the roof that was just replaced. Called mike to find out he left the company but he would call someone to get them to my home. A few days later a gentleman showed up to look and said he couldn't see were it was coming from but would redo the flashing around the area. Ok Another month goes by and low and behold another leak now has started in a brand new area in my brand new ceiling in my kitchen. Called Mike again to get a name of someone because I had already left 2 messages with no response. Mike said he would call still nothing I called Mike back after another week passed he then gave me Fred number I have now as of today left 3 messages with no response from the company. I am sitting here in my new kitchen watching water drip from my ceiling and thinking I am going to have to spend more money not only fixing the roof but also now my kitchen. The roof was supposed to lay flat after a few months of setting I was told well for the most part it does except in areas that our around my stone chimney. So now I am wondering did the actually resheet my roof with new plywood....? Since I am having these problems I have to wonder. Since both leaks that have happened are in areas were the flashing is did they replace my flashing correctly. Or did the do anything they said except for laying a new roof down. I was not at home to see so now I have to question this entire job were will the next leak start? So much for using Angie's list who rates them an A. I would not recommend this company to people who are looking for fast response if you have issues.

"Fake Review This review was done out of malice. Yes we did replace your roof in May, we actually replaced 151 sheets of plywood. When Mike was inspecting the roof he informed you that the flat roof area of your home needed to be replaced. You chose not to replace the flat roof. You called and said you had a leak around your chimney in the area we did not replace. Mike came out and sealed up the area and did not charge the usual 500.00 service call fee. You had called again at a later date and said you had another leak, we came out and found the leak, it was related to your cedar siding that we also repaired at no charge. While we were out we also sealed up some areas around your flat roof that we did not replace. Again we did not charge the usual 500.00 service call fee. We close down for the winter because it is too dangerous to be [Member Information Removed] a roof when there is snow and ice and also when there is black ice [Member Information Removed] roof. Nothing can possibly be leaking when you called with the temperature below zero unless you have hot air escaping from the inside of your home entering your attic. Thank you for posting the picture, it is a clear indication you have a condensation issue and not a roof leak. Your Contractor remodeled your kitchen, hopefully you had pulled the proper permits because apparently the area around the beam is not sealed or the drywall or the beam is letting cold and hot air clash around the beam and is causing condensation. I have to be honest, that trim work does not look like a professional installed it. The beam installation looks questionable also. We have come out many times and took care of issues that were not related to our scope of work at no charge. We did not replace any flashing where the old flat roof section is located. We did not touch that area of roof when the shingles were replaced."

The time span from first estimate visit (there were 2 estimate visits) to roofing was 2 weeks. Mike Roller is a knowledgeable and friendly person; he answers all questions in an understandable way, suggesting options. Return calls were sometimes a day or so later, sometimes not at all. I had to call several times to reach him. The company did have to reschedule the roofing appointment by a day due to several workers not showing up. This of course affected the company's roofing schedule for the day and perhaps for the week. Nonetheless the job was done in about 6 hours including clean-up. I inspected the roof after the crew left and I was satisfied with the quality of the workmanship.

Preferred roofing & Exteriors messaged me within half hour of messaging them. Fastest of the 3 companies I messaged. Mike showed up, he was professional, very knowledgeable of what was needed to be done. He inspected my attic and roof and found the issue. He did not charge me a service fee like the other two companies were trying to do. Super cool guy. If You were to ever need anything he's your guy. Thanks Mike

The work they did was so awesome. I've had several people comment that it looks like a new house. Michael Roller, the project manager, knows what he's doing. He's very considerate and kind. All of the workers were polite and considerate of my feelings. I'm so happy with their work. I'm having them put up new gutters because their initial work was so great.

Mike Roller was fantastic. Very thorough and professional our first meeting - you know what you're getting, what your options are, and all costs up front. I appreciated Mike's honesty, and how accessible he was to answer questions. I needed my roof done quickly, but the weather forecast was looking ominous. Mike called me the night before and the morning of, and we managed to get his crew in, roof on, and all cleaned in 1 day. I researched and got quotes from 5 companies, but in the end went with Preferred Roof because their price was very competitive, they use quality products, and they've been doing this for 20+ years. I know if/when I have an issue they will be around.

Excellent job. Responded to initial inquiry within 24 hours. Came out for inspection within 2 days. Provided quote within 2 days. Work was done 2 weeks after and they did a great job. Everything on the contract was done as spelled out plus a few extras.

I am completely satisfied. Mike Roller was obviously knowledgeable and gave a complete presentation. I was happy enough with the price that I chose to add a ridge vent. The job was done and the yard clean in one day.

Preferred worked diligently with my association to remedy the problem. I was impressed with how prompt, professional they were and how clean they kept their work area. I had a lot of questions as I have not dealt with mold before. They were very patient with me and answered all my questions. I would have no hesitation to refer this company to my family and/or friends.

It went great! The crew showed up when they said they would, they were extremely courteous and very hard working. Charlie showed up at our convenience to inspect our roofs and provide the estimate. We had them do both the house and the detached garage. After the estimate was done and the contract was signed I asked if they would be able to install a attic fan on the garage. They cut the hole and installed the fan I supplied at no extra charge. The flashing on the house took extra time and work due to it being a log home with a rock faced chimney. They found more rotted wood than what was in the estimate and didn't even charge us extra. Each day the crew cleaned up extensively. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs roofing done. We will be calling them in the near future to install gutters on both the house and garage.

They cleaned up well. There were a couple of issues, but they always came back and fixed them. I was very happy. The roof looks beautiful.
