"This was our second call to All Temp for service. Mike was our technician and he is very knowledgeable and professional. He gave some good advice on cooling our house, what to look for in the HVAC system in a new house (we are looking), and didn't try to up-sell me on things we didn't need. He was quick with his assessment and work. We'll be calling them again if we have HVAC issues."

"Buyer Be Aware: If the Person doing the work tells You that you Cannot Use Your Credit Card (if After 5:00 PM), Do NOT Listen! Pay the Following Day during Business Hrs.!! Also, when my New HVAC System was being installed 2 Days After Duct Cleaning, the HVAC Contractors called Me into the Basement and Showed Me the Inside of the Ductwork just after Opening it: Tons of Debris Remained Inside! Hopefully, if You Hire, Your Experience Will Be Better...Good Luck!"

"You absolutely need to hire these guys for whatever heating/cooling project is on your list. We had been ghosted by 4 HVAC companies in 9 months. Carlos Jr. called me at 9AM and by 4:30PM I not only did I have a working AC but I had an all new and upgraded unit. I am so impressed by their quick and QUALITY work. They were kind and understanding."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

If your home has an existing forced-air heat system, you can add a central air conditioner to it. An HVAC technician can retrofit your forced-air heating system by installing an evaporator coil onto the furnace plenum, the box next to the furnace that draws in air. Once installed, the air conditioning coils use the furnace’s blower to circulate the air.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.

Yes. In fact, not only are AC tuneups worth it, but they’re actually necessary to keep your air conditioner in good condition, improve its efficiency, and potentially prevent major damage. Experts recommend getting a tuneup at least once per year. In most cases, you’ll want to schedule it during the spring so that you can address any issues before the hottest months of the year.

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.

If your central AC is not blowing cold air, you should try resetting the system. Many systems have a reset button. Make sure your thermostat is off, then turn off the circuit breaker that powers your AC. Hold the reset button for three to five seconds, then turn the circuit back on. Set your thermostat to cool and choose a temperature cooler than the room. Your system should turn on quickly.
