SAL LANDSCAPING

Terrible!!!! Charged me for work and kept telling me they would come and do it and never did. I canceled their service and then called and berated me. They never refunded my money either.

Received a postcard from this guy advertising lawn cutting (see attached photo) and stating all cuts range from $ 15-$ 20. Called to obtain service. Guy answering phone (Sal) was very unprofessional and answered as if it was just his cell phone ringing instead of being a business line. I told him that I had received one of his cards and wanted to get service. He asked me for the address and phone number, which I provided, and then stated that he would would get an estimate to me within two days. I found this rather odd since the range was only from $15 to $20 so I felt it should have been as simple as looking on google maps to see how big of a lawn it is and choosing a price at that time within the range accordingly. In any case I agreed and waited for my estimate. After not hearing from him or receiving an estimate after 8 days, I called him back. he did not answer in the morning, he did not answer in the afternoon, he did not answer in the evening. I begrudgingly opted to leave a voicemail indicating that I had called and was told I would have an estimate and have not received anything from him. after not having a return phone call to my message after two additional days I tried calling again. I called maybe 5 or 6 times throughout the day before finally reaching him after 8 p.m. I told him that I have still not received an estimate and he indicated that they were behind and he would definitely be out the following day for an estimate. I then started to ask why it was taking so long to make an estimate since we were only talking a difference of plus or minus $5. This guy then hung up on me and kept sending me to voicemail before ultimately turning off his phone altogether! that began to make me think that this guy was a piece of work so I looked him up and lo and behold he's listed on Angie's List with an F rating. Unbelievable. Clearly this guy doesn't know how to run a business or take care of customers. I strongly recommend you do NOT call this individual!

I was lured in by this company's inexpensive rates but they do not come on the same day every week, nor do they come every week. I have had to mow myself a few times because I never know when they are coming. I've been waiting over a month for bush trimming services and left several messages to have this done and am still waiting. I have left several messages about other things as well, including being billed for weeks where they never showed up and never get a call back. I finally reached the owner today and he hung up on me. I have no idea why. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. It has been a very frustrating experience.

As bad as it gets.

This company will NOT call you back. The weekly mowing is cheap, but they came sporadically vs. weekly leaving our lawn often looking horrible. Several times we almost cut it ourselves (especially before summer entertaining at our home) because it was overgrown. We called to request hedge trimming 5 times and they never responded. Just before we were about to do it ourselves, they came out and absolutely hacked our hedges and left a mountain of trimmings when they should have taken them with them. They also overcharged us for this service even though it was originally quoted in writing as much lower. They also didn't perform some of the items that are included in a basic spring cleaning.

They come every week for yard maintenance. So far I am pleased with them. They are very responsive. In the past, they always sent a list of things they did with the corresponding prices and have always stuck to it. They are certainly very satisfactory. They send the printed bill right on time, which is very clear.

Our neighbor referred us to Sal Magdaleno's because while our old landscaping service was decent, they were very expensive. Sal's is a small company -- no website, no email, bills are still addressed and written up by hand. Sal's charges $70 a month to keep my lawn cut, edges trimmed and basically healthy looking. I had some holes in my backyard dug by various critters, and I noticed that they go and fill them in if they notice them. I'm not really picky about my lawn, so I'm not looking at it in great detail, but it looks pretty good and healthy, considering that I don't do anything extra (i.e. watering) to it. The actual guys doing the work are very nice and polite. If their truck / equipment is blocking part of our driveway while I need to get out, one of the guys is always sure to yell at the other guys to get their stuff out of my way. The price seems reasonable considering the amount of work they do and they come out rain or shine. It's nice not having to worry about getting special bags and stickers to dispose of lawn waste -- they take care of all of that for you, so you have to factor that into the price.

I called and called and couldn't get anyone to call me back until I refused to pay the bill. Then I fired them and made them adjust the bill to reflect only partial performance of the mowing. I would not recommend them to anyone.
