"I have used Touchstone Group Construction on multiple projects in our vintage Greystone two-flat on Chicago's southside: new bath on 2nd floor that required a complete gut, variety of plumbing work throughout the entire building, complete reno of our basement install of Crown-Molding in 1st floor unit, install of light fixtures. We are so happy with results. The work is always fantastic, pricing is very competitive. This is a professional operation, they know what it takes to get the job done and they have the resources. And most importantly, renovation especially of a historic building always has surprises. At all times, they never back away from the issue and always, always come up with solution that is reasonable and affordable. I am getting ready to engage with Touchstone Group Construction again for some final issues that we need to address in this historic property and then.....we are going to buy another apartment building, probably a 3 flat and we already know exactly who we are going to call for all remodeling and issues. They selected a group of subcontractors that had the necessary talents and attention to detail to be able to execute the detailed design that we entrusted to them. The efforts of the subcontractors were carefully guided by our superintendent, Mike P. In the office, Shawna H. did a great job navigating our project thru the challenging City review process. We had several challenges during the project, and the Icon team dealt with them in a positive manner. "Called Pryor to get a quote on having drywall, insulation and trim replaced after having drywall cut out due to mold remediation work, after a sump pump failure. I was under a time constraint in order to get other projects completed and Ralph called and arranged a walk through. We met the following day and had a written quote in hand within a few days which we agreed to. Ralph was upfront about timing to begin the project, but unfortunately the current project his guys were working on ran over and we had to delay the start for one week. The drywall guys came as planned the following week as planned and made quick work of the project. Ralph consulted with me on the type of insulation and suggested the best, most cost effective option. The drywall guys were there for about 4 full days and they worked long days, were very tidy and the work looked great. The only thing I was disappointed with was that most of the electric outlets were too far recessed in the walls after the new drywall was installed. Even trying to adjust the boxes out was not effective. We also had an issue with 2 doors not closing properly in their jams, but Ralph sent out the carpenter out who was very mituculous about refitting the door jams and getting everything to work. And he came at 4 pm on Friday over the holidays so props for him! All in all I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, professionalism., and cost.
