"Beware Green Air–Inept, Incompetent, and Not BBB Accredited! Green Air Care is not welcome into my home ever again, and I strongly encourage others to not use them and endure the tribulations that I experienced. My experience with Green Air (who recently purchased a few local HVAC companies) was extremely unsatisfactory, stressful, and unprofessional. I had a new AC unit installed on May 7th, 2024 and did not have a fully functioning unit until June 29th, 2024. During those 8 weeks, I made 24 calls to Green Air, experienced 12 service house calls, and took 8 days off of work to accommodate the technicians. Throughout my experience, I was blatantly lied to and ignored by the technicians, the staff, and the manager, leaving my house with no functioning AC during the summer. The root cause of my malfunctioning AC unit was a leak, caused by the negligence of Green Air staff during the initial installation. Green Air installed parts that did not align with my AC unit, and, in doing so, also melted a valve. This ultimately caused all of the unit’s refrigerant to leak out within the matter of 3-5 days. Throughout ten subsequent service calls made by Green Air, not one of the multiple technicians thought to check the valve. It was only during the final service call, which happened to be the first call where the service manager (Adam) finally decided to get involved, that the valve was inspected. When I asked the manager why this was not checked over the course of the 8 weeks, knowing full well there was a documented leak, he told me that he does not have an answer. One of the technicians, Slawomir, (who told me on four separate occasions that he had “fixed” the issue) scoffed at the idea that he should have tested the valve. In a previous conversation when I asked if I could get verification that the original unit was installed correctly, pressure tested, and followed procedure, I received a “No Comment” from Slawomir which I found extremely unprofessional, completely disrespectful, and very telling of the type of service I was getting. During this complete mismanagement by Green Air, I had an incident where I was promised on the phone by the staff, Jennifer, that a technician could perform the necessary work to fix the issue even when I inquired if they could perform the work while it was raining. I was ensured by Jennifer that she spoke directly to the technician and weather would not be an issue. The next day, the technician showed up to my home and told me he could not perform the necessary work due to the weather and told me that no one spoke to him and I will once again be without a working AC unit for an entire weekend, in hot and humid weather. This incident proved to me that Green Air was actively lying to me and providing false information. At this time, the service manager, Adam, was extremely reluctant to provide any help and assistance in solving my issues, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. He did not believe my problem was worth his time until after 8 weeks of his company wasting thousands of dollars in filling up refrigerant that was constantly leaking out. Adam constantly told me that I should be the one to call back regarding updates that they were supposedly looking into, as if it was my job to find solutions and manage them. He then promised me a restaurant gift card for my troubles….which I have yet to receive. It is evident that Green Air is not a well-run organization. I have personally witnessed the company scheduling their technicians all across the Chicagoland area, causing them have to drive 1-2 hours in between appointments, which led to technicians being late and unavailable to appointments. It is also notable that Green Air is not accredited by the BBB. They claim to be, according to a seal printed on a folder provided to me, and in a sticker placed on my AC unit; however, upon researching the BBB website, this accreditation is false. Based on the gross incompetence by Green Air, it is obvious that they do not care about their clients’ well-being or their own professional integrity."

American Heritage Fireplace has been serving our Chicago and Milwaukee markets for over 20 years. Our showrooms are always current and offer the latest technology in our industry. Most of our employees have been with the company since the beginning and we have seen a few even reach retirement. We offer experience and knowledge that can not be beat. Not just a guy in a truck but a fully insured and bonded company.
"Terrible experience. I wished I had read the reviews before buying my fireplace from here. Same thing that has been said below happened to us as well. The installation was not done properly, the gas line horse was twisted and crushed which was not safe (see picture). They also forgot to discard a piece that was in the vent which caused the fireplace to stop working and have very low flames. The client service was terrible. After the sale was done it was very hard to reach my sales person (Richard and Chris for us). They stopped answering the phone and never called back after leaving multiple voicemails. It also took multiple visits for them to find out what the issue was. The last installation team that came was great thankfully and was finally able to make the fireplace work properly. I would never buy anything from here again and would not recommend it to anyone"

Wright Way is proud to have been awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 Wright way is a Christian based company based on christian values. The company has grown well beyond our expectations by keeping the simple and right things first. We spin high speed whips and use high powered gas vacuums to insure your ducts are perfectly cleaned every time, Guaranteed. After the ventilation system is clean we will fog anti-bacterial sanitizer throughout the entire system to eliminate any minor molding, bacteria and viruses in your ductwork. Family owned & operated. No subs. Charges flat rate. No travel charges. No service fees. When builders, architects, and homeowners want their fireplace, chimney work done right they call Ashes No Flashes and have been calling since 1983. They know what to expect from Ashes No Flashes, high quality work at a fair price. The quality and service you would expect from a family owned business in the Chicago Suburbs.
"I wanted a longtime unused fireplace to be evaluated for possible use. I needed George to evaluate and see if my fireplace/chimney was even usable to burn wood - which he said it was (with some modest updating work). So I asked George to provide me with pricing to get it fit to burn wood again and another option to retro-fit it to use gas instead of wood. I chose to go with the gas option . . . The work was done promptly and neatly and to my full satisfaction"

We offer services to homeowners, businesses, condominium, homeowners associations for chimney cleaning and repair, dryer vent cleaning and repair, HVAC duct cleaning, all HVAC services as well as general building maintenance services.
"DO NOT USE them to clean your chimney- they pretend they are cleaning it but they do not. We used them for years until smoke started backing up into our family room and had another chimney cleaning company come in and they removed 10 pound buckets (5 lbs each) of soot and creosote and we had to have the chimney deglazed."

While it’s possible to sweep your own chimney, it’s usually not a good idea for two reasons. First, inexperienced DIYers are more likely to miss areas of the chimney, which still leaves the risk of house fire due to the remaining residue. Second, chimney sweeping seems like a simple process, but it’s highly dangerous. Soot and creosote are both carcinogenic and can cause breathing issues and lung damage. If you don’t take the same safety precautions that professionals do, you could be putting yourself at risk of serious bodily harm.
You should plan to ask your chimney sweeper questions about the cleaning process they intend to use, the project timeline, and more to get a sense of which professional is right for the job:
What is your process for cleaning chimneys?
How long will the process take?
Will you protect my floors from soot and debris?
Will you do a chimney inspection, too?
Do you have certification from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) or the National Fire Institute (NFI)?
Will you need access to my roof?
The average cost for a professional chimney cleaning is around $250, but prices range from $130 to $400 or more, depending on a few factors. Some things that have an impact on your total include the size of your chimney, the number of chimneys cleaned, and how accessible the chimneys are.
In some cases, you don’t need to do anything to prepare for chimney sweeping, but professionals always appreciate leaving the area clean and easy to access. As such, it’s a good idea to move fireplace accessories like screens and fire tending tools out of the way, and lay down tarps of drop cloths around your fireplace opening to help keep your floors clean. Laying down a plastic sheet under those cloths or tarps is a good idea if your fireplace is surrounded by carpeting, just to add extra protection. Finally, secure any pets or children away from the work area.
The National Fire Prevention Agency (NFPA) recommends chimney sweeping once per year as a means of avoiding house fires and massive property damage. Over time, creosote and soot build up in your chimney from burning wood and a lack of ventilation. These compounds are both highly flammable, which means a build-up of them inside your chimney puts you at an increased risk of house fire. Chimney sweeping removes any residue and helps reduce the risk of property damage and personal injury from fire.
