Chimney Repair Reviews Near The Area

Jiffy Plumbing & Heating, Inc.

Very well. We called yesterday, which was a holiday. They told us that they would have someone out to our house today and they did. They repaired the fireplace and found a leak in our propane tank that we did not know about.

Yeager Gas Fireplace Service
5.0
We initially called Bill Yeager to fix a problem with a remote for our gas fireplace. No one had been able to fix the problem, which was getting the remote to turn on the fireplace. Bill was able to fix it. We then ordered a log set for a second fireplace from Bill and had him install it. He got us a great price and did a great job with the installation. I'd be more than happy to use him again

RIBA Construction LLC

After signing the contract and quickly taking my deposit, they refused to tell me when they would perform the work. I called and e-mailed them multiple times and talked with several people. Then after sending the project manager to inspect the chimney, they informed me that they could not do the work for that price, but could do it for over triple the original estimate in the "off chance" I wanted to still contract with them. They did return the deposit, but it was a disorganized mess dealing with them.

Wammoth Services

It took them three tries to figure out what was wrong. Each time ordering parts and repairing something different. Once they sent an experienced technician it was fixed and prior repairs paid for were refunded. That made me happy.

The whole experience working with IAQ Medics was great, from booking the appointment, to the communication about arrival, to the technician (Felix) being right on time and very professional. They fixed a gas fireplace for us. 5 stars. I will definitely use them again in the future!

They chimney repair was fine, but the brick steps repair was poorly done. They had to come back 3 times to fix it and it just looks sloppy.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry

They were the cheapest by far and were willing to do the repair without rebuilding the whole chimney, although they did recommend that we look into that in the future. Everyone else wanted to do a rebuild for way more money.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry
5.0
They responded promptly, showed up on time, did the work as proposed, cleaned up after themselves. Other chimney services had told us we needed to rebuild the chimney ($$$$). American Professional Chimney said the chimney structure was sound and just needed repair and waterproofing. They were upfront about the fact that they couldn't guarantee the fix would work given that the chimney was 80+ years old. It will be a while before we know if the fix succeeded in fixing the problem.

Unless you happen to be familiar with chimneys, you really don't know if the chimney repair is fixed until it leaks again. Carlos found the problem, explained in detail what needed to be done, completed the work in one afternoon. I have not had any leaks since the repair.

Amazing Flame Gas Fireplace Service & Repair
5.0
Perfectly. Tech showed-up right on time, kept work area clean and neat, and got everything fixed in an hour or so. As it turned out, repairs were more complicated than I thought. Tech had to repair wiring in the fireplace, as well as replace the remote, which was broken.

James A Wheat & Sons Inc

The needed repairs were discussed and the options for how the repairs could be done to resolve the problem. The costs of the options were also discussed and explained. I felt very confident in making the decision on how to fix the problems and am very pleased with the way the work was done.

The King's Masons
5.0
Recognizing our urgent situation, King's Masons provided an estimate to repair the chimney and arrived days later to make the repairs. A scaffold was needed and they returned several days later. They worked with us on an economical and practical fix to the problem. Work was completed in time for our 4th of July BBQ celebration. King's Masons were terrific.

Consumer Construction Inc

Outstanding! After I contacted Consumer Construction, Greg Walker stopped by my Log Cabin to discuss my project. He helped me select the best value Roof, and arranged for a repair to some rotted wood on my Log Cabin (really two jobs). They uncovered a third problem during the course of replacing the chimney (for which I was grateful). Greg acted as the General Manager for what turned out to be three pieces of work: 1. Replace rotted wood. 2. New roof. 3. Repair leaking chimney. Having Greg manage the entire process made things a lot of things easier. I had one number to call, and one person making sure that the folks doing the work had everything they needed. If you call Consumer Construction, I would ask for Greg Walker by name to oversee your project! Patrick Quigley did the rotted wood repair. Patrick struck me as an old school craftsman interested in quality work. He spent the day meticulously identifying the problem, getting the materials he needed to replace quite a few pieces of wood, and then doing the actual work. Miguel led the roof repair. His team was very professional, and did the work to what I consider the highest standards of quality. They added features that clearly were not part of the roof they replaced. While Miguel was on my roof, he identified a serious problem with one of my log chimneys. The logs on one side had rotted. That was the cause of a mysterious league which had occurred during the most serious of storms. Greg Walker arranged for the chimney repair at a reasonable price. This included finding a vendor and matching the log siding, which is rather unique. Patrick Quigley returned (at my by name request). He spent the day inspecting and repairing my log chimney. Patrick inspected both chimneys, and found they both needed work. Again, he patiently removed, replaced, and sealed both chimneys completely. He is a true craftsman. Greg Walker checked in several times during the process to make sure everything was going as planned, and that I was happy. He also brought in people to advise on issues uncovered during the process. Let me point out that all my reviews tend to be positive. That's because I start with Angie's List, do my homework, and then select a Contractor. That's what I did when I engaged Consumer Construction, Inc. As usual, I am very satisfied with the results. I always tell contractors that I found them on Angie's List, and that I always review the work of businesses I find on Angie's list.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry

Stefan was the first to come out and he was efficient and friendly. He didn't sugarcoat or appear "sale"-sy. We discussed various options and he provided quotes. He's a keeper for that organization. Those that came out to replace the chimney (approx 3 day repair) were respectful of my privacy and property.

We were unable to find pros for your Chimney Repair project in Ashburn, VA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Your home's chimney vents unpleasant and dangerous fumes away from your home. When chimneys develop issues, prompt chimney repair can keep your family warm, safe, and healthy.

What common issues require chimney repair?

Problems most homeowners experience with their chimneys are associated with age and use. An older or often-used chimney will need chimney repair more often than a newer, or seldom-used, chimney. You may have one or more of these typical problems:

  • Cracks in the exterior brick or masonry
  • Cracks in the chimney liner or flue
  • Water infiltration
  • Clogged chimney (often due to nests)
  • Creosote buildup
  • Loose chimney flashing
  • Separation between chimney cricket and chimney (a cricket is a small roof transition piece)
  • Poor venting

Though most of a chimney is immobile, it can still have failing parts. From the exterior, you may notice cracks in the brick or masonry. From inside, you may spot water stains, dripping water, or cracks in the chimney liner. Other failing parts include:

  • Faulty damper
  • Broken crown (the top masonry area)
  • Spark arrestor

How much will chimney repair near me cost?

The national average for chimney repair is $455, but that perhaps oversimplifies the extent of possible repair. Expect to pay:

  • $100 to $300 for a chimney cleaning
  • $150 to $300 for crown repair
  • $175 to $3,000 for crack repair
  • $150 to $350 for solving water leaks

Begin with local chimney sweeps, who often not only clean chimneys but repair them, as well.
