"A and quot;greenand quot; remodeler we were thinking of hiring suggested that we needed an interior designer to accomplish our goals and recommended Sarah Cunningham of Desiderata Interiors as someone knowledgeable about environmentally sensitive design. Our introductory meeting ended up lasting 4 hours because we had so much fun discussing Sarah's many ideas. The time flew. Sarah heard the underlying issues we were trying to address, essentially making the house lighter and warmer, and suggested ways we had not considered. We are now winding up the project five months after that first meeting. We have greatly enjoyed working with Sarah, who is not only knowledgeable but friendly and fun. She ended up being the general contractor for the project and all of the sub-contractors have been of excellent quality. She accommodated our doing much of the painting to save costs. Sarah has been very responsive to us and worked all hours of the day and night to help us achieve our goals. She is dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic as well as creative. "They were very helpful and knowledgable in the beginning with making suggestions and helping us find the right product. Full payment was required upfront. They were quick to take our money, but not very good on follow through. Installers (who were contracted through Dillabaugh's) arrived promptly and did a good job removing the old flooring and prepping the underlayment. Dillabaugh's rep had promised that she would stop in to check the progress and see the final result. This never happened. We had contracted and paid for quarter round to finish certain places (i..e. around cabinet bases) but installers just caulked these seams instead, so we didn't get what we paid for. The caulking looked good so that was okay with us, except that we had already paid for the quarter round. Dillabaugh's would not give a refund for the quarter round so we said that we wanted the quarter round in case we decided to add it later. More than two months later and after several phone calls, we still don't have the quarter round. They are very slow to respond once they have your money. There are probably businesses out there with better customer service and follow through.show more
