"Jeremy was fantastic. Extremely professional, knowledgeable. He installed our Schlage keyless door locks, hung our tv's and also hooks for coats in laundry room. He came prepared with all tools and everything he did was top notch perfect. We will ask Jeremy again for his services. I would recommend him to anyone as he has a wide range of experience for any home tasks or needs. Thanks again Jeremy!!!!! You were great."

"Jose returned my call fairly quickly after I left a message. He scheduled a visit later that afternoon. (Two other firms that I called were not interested in my business, they said to call the window manufacturer.) Jose came to the house, assessed the situation, made some recomendations and we made a deal! As he was leaving I showed him a cracked mirror that we had, he was able to fix that for us , also. Jose is a wonderful businessman and person."

"Camden is first class. Our project was not big, just installing, painting, and caulking base boards. His worker got paint on our brand new hardwood floors. Camden stayed all evening and came back the next day to ensure that it all got fixed. Would definitely recommend."

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

Yes, triple-pane windows are more resistant to condensation. They help to reduce interior condensation that forms as a result of warmer temperatures inside your home than outside it. This makes them a good fit for cooler climates, particularly with newer, well-sealed homes that retain higher levels of moisture in the winter months.

Fiberglass and wood windows last the longest, with lifespans of up to 45 years or more with proper maintenance. Wood windows are more expensive than vinyl and aluminum windows, but they’re 10% to 20% less expensive than fiberglass windows. Repairing and restoring wood windows is also easier than with fiberglass windows, so they’re considered the more durable option overall.

The most common types of window frames include frame and sash, metal or aluminum frames, composite frames, fiberglass frames, vinyl frames, wood frames, glass or glazed frames, and insulated frames. Frames can also be categorized by operating types, such as awning frames, single/double-sliding frames, fixed frames, casement frames, and single/double-hung frames.

The cost of window replacement is about $290 per window on average, with a typical price range of $180 to $410. However, costs can be as low as $100 or as high as $780 or more. The total price depends on several factors, including the size, type, brand, and number of windows being replaced. The frame material and glass type also significantly impact the cost.

  • Frame Material Costs (per window):

  • Aluminum: $275

  • Vinyl: $550

  • Wood: $800

  • Composite: $900

  • Fiberglass: $1,250

  • Glass Type: Simple double-glazed windows are cheaper ($3 to $6 per sq. ft.) than stronger tempered glass ($12 to $14 per sq. ft.).

A double-hung window features two operable sashes, meaning it has an upper window part and a lower part that can both open to let in fresh air. A picture window has one fixed glass panel that doesn’t open. Double-hung windows cost about $200 to $2,500, while picture windows cost about $200 to $1,900.
