Customers say: Quick response

"Our HOA hired Chandler Tree Service to remove dead branches and unwanted limbs from three huge, neglected willow trees. They also removed three dead birch trees and ground their stumps, and removed a split limb from a locust tree. Their four-man crew showed up on time with the equipment needed. They worked steady all day using a 60-foot boom lift, large trailered shredder, stump grinder, pole saws and chain saws. Everything went through the shredder and into their truck. At the end of the day, the truck was full! Before they left they cleaned everything from the other trees, shrubs and ground much better than it was before they came. Our willow trees went from ugly to beautiful in one day! Without question, FIVE stars!!"

"I hired Alex to remove some blackberry bushes and we agreed on $300. He said they would get on it asap. Unfortunately, they never got to it and have not responded to my messages since."

"Very helpful and excellent job done! Fast workers, polite and prompt! I highly recommend Competitive LLC. They removed a huge tree stump from our yard at a lower cost than I could find anywhere. They responded right away to my post for this job and they had already checked out the size of the stump and gave me a price on first contact with me. They were able to do the job right away and I could not have been happier!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In Boise, homeowners may encounter extra steps such as obtaining permits from Boise Parks & Recreation or coordinating with Idaho Power for trees near utility lines. Additional costs can arise from the need for specialized equipment for large or hard-to-reach trees, or from required debris removal. It's wise to ask your arborist about city requirements and clarify if stump grinding or hauling is included in your tree removal or tree trimming service.

Helpful?

After tree service in Boise, schedule annual inspections with a certified arborist to monitor tree health and structural stability. Seasonal tree trimming helps prevent disease and storm damage, while mulching and deep watering are important in Boise's dry climate. Boise Parks & Recreation recommends monitoring for local pests and diseases, and applying mulch to conserve moisture. Promptly remove any remaining debris to prevent attracting pests.

Helpful?

In Boise, homeowners often skip required permits from Boise Parks & Recreation or attempt tree removal without a certified arborist, risking fines and property damage. Common errors include improper tree trimming techniques like topping, neglecting to check for utility lines with Idaho Power, and ignoring aftercare such as mulching or pest monitoring. Always verify contractor credentials and follow Boise City Code for safe, effective tree service.

Helpful?

In Boise, safety starts by hiring a licensed arborist who follows OSHA and ISA standards. Always confirm that tree service professionals coordinate with Idaho Power when working near utility lines. Secure the work area to protect people, pets, and property, and avoid tree removal or trimming during high winds. Boise Parks & Recreation advises notifying neighbors in advance and ensuring clear access for emergency vehicles if needed.

Helpful?

In Boise, tree removal or significant pruning often requires a permit, especially for trees located in the public right-of-way or designated as heritage trees. Boise Parks & Recreation oversees these permits, and work near public streets may require additional city approval. If tree service is near power lines, coordination with Idaho Power is mandatory. Always consult Boise City Code and contact city arborists before starting any tree removal or trimming project.
