Customers say: Quick response

"We chose Devin & his crew, via his day rate, to tackle a big job that involved nearly every service he offers: tree removal, shrub removal, tree trimming, pruning, stump grinding, and cleanup. We found him and his crew very professional yet personable, hard-working, knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and conscientious. We give Devin our 5-star review because there really wasn't anything he could have done better and he did everything (and more) that we asked for at a very reasonable price. As Devin says, "we work this hard EVERY day." If you want work done well, Devin and his crew are your folks."

Customers say: Quality work

"This was the first company to respond and I decided to hire them. Their estimate was very close to the others. A small amount of damage was done when felling the trees but it was minor and they did the repairs in a timely manner and very professionally. I like the guys who did the work. I had 3 trees taken out and they were all very big and close to the house. John kept in contact with me throughout the whole job. I would hire them again."

"If you want hard workers that are professional and at the same time personal, this is the company to go with! Joshua and his team are quick, efficient, and thorough. He took down five dead aspen trees for me and pruned and shaped a crab apple. The clean up was so thorough and complete. He also fit us in just five days after the estimate. The price was much lower than any other estimate we had. I"

"They did a great job getting my trees trimmed and ready for spring. They got me scheduled for a free estimate the same week I reached out and they were able to complete the job fast. I would highly recommend them, they are easy to work with and my trees haven’t looked this good in a long time."

"I hired Alex to remove some blackberry bushes and we agreed on $300. He said they would get on it asap. Unfortunately, they never got to it and have not responded to my messages since."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

In the case that a tree is growing directly on your property line, the cost of maintaining the tree is shared and is the property of both owners in common. In this case, all decisions regarding the maintenance of the tree must be made jointly, and both parties must agree on a course of action. You will need to agree with your neighbor about the cutting of any roots before you carry it out, and your neighbor must also consult with you before doing any trimming. Coming to an agreement with your neighbor about any shared trees ahead of necessary trimming and maintenance will make this process much simpler.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.
