Customers say: Quick response

"We had a problem with our overgrown oak tree in the front yard severely overhanging over the street as well as limbs over our gutter and our backyard tree that is about 50 feet high that had many limbs overhanging the chimney as well as the gutter. Believe me, I interviewed and got bids from 4 contractors. A friend told me about Chandler Tree Service, and recommended I get a bid from them. I selected Chandler, and it was the best decision I made. Not only did I get an extremely competitive bid, but I couldn't have been more impressed with their work. A crew of 6 showed up at my door today, on time, and met with me to review again exactly what they were planning to do with both trees. And boy did they go to work. They used boards on my lawn to ensure it was protected from their lift. They did more work, that's right, more work, than what they told me they were going to do, and it was awesome. They cleaned up every limb, twig, and leave that came off my tree. I simply could not believe it. Their bid never changed, and I paid them with a check after they thanked me for the work. I never met Devin Chandler or his crew before he came over to make the initial bid on the work on my trees. Folks, I did my homework. You would be nuts to go with any other Tree Trimming Service. They do great work, are extremely competitive, and have the highest integrity in their work! Thank you Devin Chandler!!! In a world where it seems people are trying to rip you off, Chandler Tree Service showed me that there still are great companies out there. You just got to find them. I'm lucky I did! John"

Very professional and friendly! Great job of cleanup. Yes I will hire them again for all future tree/irrigation needs."

"They did a great job getting my trees trimmed and ready for spring. They got me scheduled for a free estimate the same week I reached out and they were able to complete the job fast. I would highly recommend them, they are easy to work with and my trees haven’t looked this good in a long time."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

In general, trees should be planted no closer than 15 to 20 feet from your foundation. For larger trees with far-reaching roots like maples, oaks, or poplars, a good guide is to plant as many feet from your home as the tree’s height is expected to reach at maturity. Some trees, like elms and willows, should only be planted far from where their roots may encounter sewer or water lines.

A tree branch should start to form roots in about three months. It can take about a year for a tree branch to develop roots strong enough to go in the ground. For best results, start several branches because, no matter how closely you follow instructions, they won’t all form roots. Compost any that aren’t thriving.

In the short term, you’ll have a lot of fallen trees to deal with. Tree removal services costs typically start at $200 per tree and increase based on species and size. Then, you’ll have to deal with the loss of trees: That means a loss of shade and a greater risk of rain runoff and erosion. Also, you’ll miss out on the health and aesthetic benefits of having trees on your property, which could even affect the resale value of your home.

That being said, cutting down a tree it’s not always a bad idea. Trees growing too close to rooftops can present fire hazards or debris problems. You may need to remove diseased or dying trees to prevent future issues.
