"I signed an agreement but was never given a copy of that contract after numerous requests. Verbal contact with the business owner told me I did not sign up for stump removal. One note that came to me on Angie's from the office(?) did list stump removal, but I was accepting of the denial because the tree was very large. However due to very bad weather on the day the tree was removed (without any notification that they were coming) caused them to skip the last cut which then had to be done by the stump grinder for an extra charge. Also the trimming of the ash tree was not done in full because of the storm. In their defense, the tree was taken out with no damage to the property and hauled away to my satisfaction."

Yes, flagstone is more expensive than pavers, but natural stone lasts longer and has a unique aesthetic appeal that pavers can't match. It is important to make the distinction that flagstone can be different from flagstone pavers. Some pavers are flagstone pavers, and some are not. Flagstone can be uniformly cut and set like pavers or retain the stone’s original shape.

On average, concrete costs less than pavers for the same project. Standard broom-finished concrete costs from $2 to $15 per square foot. Stamped concrete costs between $8 to $28 per square foot. On the other hand, pavers cost from $8 to $50 per square foot. For any of these materials, the cost depends on which concrete finish or paver you choose. Keep in mind that the layout complexity, amount of site preparation, and location factor into the cost, too.

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. A paver patio will add more value than a concrete patio. Pavers are a more commonly preferred option from an aesthetic and longevity point of view, so most buyers will be willing to pay more for a paver patio than they would for a concrete one. Pavers also don’t require a permanent foundation, so they won’t increase your property taxes. Buyers also prefer lower property taxes, so that will play into the ROI you’ll see, too.

Pea gravel can be used as a base for a paver patio, but it’s not the preferred choice. Because it is small and round, pea gravel moves much more easily than other base options, like crushed stone, so it won’t keep your pavers in place properly. 

If you do opt for pea gravel, compact it well and use an additional binding agent (like stone dust) to keep everything from shifting.
