Ben messaged me, 4-30-23, in response to a Facebook post I made about landscape changes I wanted to make. This included removing dead bushes, digging out and removing the exhausting rocks, putting in a block border, and filling it in with mulch. The quote was free and we were told $600 to do everything plus materials. He rescheduled on me several times and when he eventually came out, 5-15-23, it was a cover up job. He cut the bushes off at the ground, canâ t plant anything near all those roots, nor can I dig them out easily now. He did not remove any rock, like agreed upon, and just dumped the mulch on top. He said â I was doing some digging and it helps to have rock underneath mulch.â No, for the same reasons as not fully removing the bushes. The only thing that was done well was the landscaping blocks for the border. My husband paid him the day he finished the work and when I got home that night we immediately found out that he had not removed the rocks, did not put down landscaping fabric, and did not correctly remove the bushes. When I asked him for the itemized statement he blocked me on Facebook, and assumed I wouldnâ t be able to take it any further. If you see this Ben, know that I am looking at small claims court. The work you did was not worth what we paid. And you never told us about changes you made to our agreed upon services/prices. You claim not to have charged us for the removal of rocks and the landscaping fabric, but refused to give an itemized statement to back up your claim. I have photos of everything, including the messages to back up the fact that you didnâ t do what you were asked and paid for.

Ben installed a wood fence. The posts are only buried 1 foot, yes ONE foot, into ground and now after 6 months the fence is tipping over and will soon be laying flat on the ground. It is a safety hazard. Iâ ve had 4 fencing companies come out to give me bids to fix it and ALL of them said the fence needs totally replaced. All of them could not believe the crappy job Ben did and how he RIPPED me off. The fence is a disaster and now needs completely torn down to replace the posts. At least I can have the post straightened since Ben didnâ t even use a string as a guide when placing the posts or for putting up the planks. You should see the joke of a gate that he made! It doesnâ t even open!!! I trusted Ben. He seemed like a nice honest guy. He seemed like a good Christian guyâ ¦ what was not to trust?! I now know that he took advantage of a me and my trust. I was going through a rough time in my life and he knew I was vulnerable. He ripped me off!!! I had him come out once to fix the fence since the planks were twisting and warping. I had to pay him to add a third rail (since unlike all the other wooden fences, it only had 2.) Funny thingâ ¦. He just nailed the third rail under the bottom one.. ughh. That did not add support for the warping and twisting planks that each only had 2, yes I said 2, screws holding each plank in place. He refused to fix the fence posts since I already had to have the fence repaired before winter because of his poor workmanship. He said that since the fence had been repaired (It had to have all the planks and rails taken off and put back up correctly) he will not guarantee it. Now I need to invest more money into the fence and have the posts put in correctly. Ben just used his fancy saws all (the only saw he used to build my fence) to unevenly cut the excess wood off the TOP of the posts. Guess that if he would have put the posts up correctly, he would not have had to cut 2 foot of post off the tops! Shame on you, Ben. Shame on you! What a stinking rip-off. I wish I could insert pictures for this review to show you the poor quality of work. He should have not misled me that he had experience putting up a fence. I donâ t think he had ever done it before or even watched a YouTube to learn how to do it. If you would like to see proof. I have it. Lots of it. Ben also has proof that he builds crappy fencesâ ¦ look at the pic he has posted of a fence gate. Notice that there are only 2 rails. Notice how much space there is between the top rail and the top of the planksâ ¦ those boards are going to be warping all over the place! This gate looks a ton better than mine AND it opens!!! Wow!!! Ben needs to refund me the money I paid him for about 100 linear foot of fence ($4,600) or HE needs to hire someone to fix the fence. His dishonest self is not welcomed onto my property. He took my money and left me with a disaster! Oh! Almost forgot to addâ ¦ when you have Ben cut down bushes, he does not dig up the rootsâ ¦ even when he said he was going to! Now I have little stumps sticking out of mounds of dirt around my patio and I will have lots of little branches coming up out of the ground soon. I really hope nobody trips before I have to pay someone to clean up this mess too! I should have hired a reputable company to do the workâ ¦ or at least hired an honest trustworthy person to do it. Ben is just not that person. Please protect yourself from fraud. Hire someone that knows how to put up a wood fence properly and stands behind their work.

Lots of communication prior and during the removal of a massively overgrown bush area of my house. Done quickly and as promised. Will be using Ben for this summer's projects.
