"I am very happy I selected Dayco.  I shopped 3 other companies and Dayco had a competitive price, very good reviews on Angies list, had proper insurance, etc.  Another reason I went with Dayco is that Dean spent the time to answer all my questions. Dean gave me several options and was not just trying to sell me something. His crew showed up on time, were very professional, cleaned up, etc.  I am the type of person that asks a lot of questions, especially when someone is doing major work in my house.  Dayco installers were all very nice and were all very happy to answer my questions when the work was being performed. I really appreciated this and it made me comfortable about the work being performed.   I needed some minor adjustments shortly after the install and Dayco came right out to make it just right. Everything went great.  I am so pleased with this company that when my mother's hvac unit (18 years old) died a few weeks ago.  I called Dean and they just completed installing a new system at Mom's.  Again.  everything was great.  I would highly recommend Dayco Systems.

"Yahav was the service technician that Clean Air Atlanta sent and he not only did a really great job on the work: he also saved us over $1000 by being HONEST about work our fireplace did not need, that another company had said we needed. I highly recommend this company!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

It is normal for the attic to be hotter than the rest of the house in the summer, but only by about 10 or 20 degrees. Attics that aren’t properly insulated or ventilated can reach temperatures of 130 degrees or more which can cause damage to the home’s structure, including the roof, wood framing, and HVAC system.

Most AC repair technicians will take between two and six hours to carry out repairs, depending on the work needed and the accessibility of the unit. For example, recharging refrigerant lines should take one to two hours to service, while replacing a compressor, blower fan, or other major components can take five to eight hours. You can ask your AC repair technician how long they expect the job to take, but just in case, you should plan on being home and available for most of the day.

Yes. It's not just AC filters that get dirty. Ducts can accumulate dust and dirt quickly. Insects and animals can also get into duct systems, creating many problems. Dirt build-up and unwanted guests can constrict the airflow and cause rooms not to cool evenly. You might also see higher energy bills because they're not working as efficiently.

Yes, HVAC zoning systems offer energy savings by allowing precise temperature control in different zones in your home. Rather than conditioning the whole house uniformly, these systems direct airflow where needed, preventing energy waste. Tailoring comfort to specific areas reduces energy consumption and lowers utility costs, making HVAC zoning an energy-efficient choice.

A calculation method that your HVAC contractor will use to ensure your system does what it's supposed to is measuring duct output, or its CFM. The calculation requires knowing the cross-sectional area of the ductwork and determining the air speed past any given point within it.
